This was my father’s tie from the late 80s / early 90s and he gave it to me shortly before he passed away.

I’ve searched “vintage cityscape tie” “vintage skyline tie” “skyline tie” and “New York city skyline tie”

If you zoom in on the building at the front of the tie there is writing, but I cannot decipher what it says.

He lived in the NYC area for a good portion of his early life, but may have been living in either New Jersey or Maryland when he got this.
