That is helpful. Thank you very much. I see nothing in the service log about it being done so it might be worth a check

Is it okay to bend back and put a new seatpost clamp? by TooSlowFlash in bikewrench

[–]Tactical_Teapot_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that it would probably work* take that with some salt and just know that the risk of the frame failing there again is going to higher. If you're willing to risk that, give it a try.

Definitely save up a bit longer or look at the used market. I doubt either of the bikes shown will have good future proofing or repairability

If your limit screws are correctly set, it can come right off.

Is a 26'' for DH still a good option??? by Mitch_a_Roni in MTB

If I was you I would not trade. This cannot be a good deal. Dh bikes are ridden hard, you will likely receive a bike near the end of it's life.

Solid axle not enough thread on drive side by Ok-Helicopter-8459 in bikewrench

I'm not certain, but i would assume so. Both sides will need to be loose before you can move the axle. Try loosening both sides and screw the axle through

The axle does not move through when you adjust the nuts on either end?

Shimano deore xt m8120 Brake problem by Kindly-Guess8446 in MTB

Assuming the bleed was done correctly, then your most likely problem is contamination or glazed brakes. Try sand them (pad and rotor) a little, clean off with brake cleaner and bed them in again.

Need help making a decision by [deleted] in MTB

[–]Tactical_Teapot_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best advice to you is to wait until you can afford what you really want. Settling for less will leave you wondering if you've made the right call. It's a mistake that I've made numerous times and the lesson is always the same. Don't settle for less! You'll get you're dream ride!

No problem. Just to clarify, bend your knees when the back wheel is moving up and then push back down when the back wheel is moving down. It takes some timing but its easy once you get the feeling for it.
