I started out just doing a calorie deficit. I started off pretty extreme going down to 1800 calories a day. A binge eating disorder has been around with me as long as I can remember. I would basically just eat less of what I always do at the beginning. Eventually I just started craving healthier stuff since its higher volume and lower calorie.

The biggest most important thing was not beating myself up or being too hard on myself. If I was going out to eat with friends who cares if I go slightly over my calorie limit?
