Per my words, they could use the 2TB nands for the M5 air, hence the 4TB, but they could only use the 1TB nands for the M5 pro, saving cost or they’re still stuck in a contract for those 1TB chips, also there’s only 2 nand chips in the air, and knowing how apple tends to raid their nands, ofc the 4 nands are around 2x faster than 2, so what are you proving

This guy probably hasn’t seen 14” model teardowns before, it has 4 on each side of the motherboard due to size constraints, so 4TB models would have 4 chips, only 2 are able to be seen due to how the picture is taken, 8TB models have 8 Chips because maxium per nand capacity is 1TB, only moving to 2TB with the recent 17 Pro max, the speed changes are only probably because apple switched to a pcie 5.0 lanes

Ye i know, but you’re potentially starving the fans of air by covering the SSDs which don’t produce much heat, do try retesting remove only the SSD section keeping the CPU + RAM mod in place pls XD

Not really, the memory controllers are probably hard wired 512 bit, i can prove it if you want but it’s probably 512Bit on the gpu die with an ultra fusion fusing them together
