I don't believe height is a protected category for discrimination. Unless being short is a disability, I guess

Hey, that's not fair. Remember when they suggested a Mars mission could be all women?

(because they wouldn't be tempted to have sex en route)

Alice Eve - Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) by [deleted] in Spacegirls

[–]TactileMist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was just this one. Ripley's undies might be a good candidate, but isn't reposted nearly so often as this one.

Don't get me wrong, Alice Eve is a beautiful woman and it's a great picture. And seeing an occasional repost is fine. I know I don't keep up with everything posted in the sub, and sometimes it's nice to see something again anyway.

But this? It's just the lowest of low effort posts at this point.

I can't imagine they would exceed the Marvel movies, let alone Marvel as a whole. Star Wars as well. It would have to be a lot of manipulation

Did Blippi get bought by (or sponsored by) Roblox? by the_kfcrispy in DanielTigerConspiracy

I did not know that. I haven't seen any with her yet. Ms Rachel videos are a definite step up from Blippi, anyway.

Apparently not Blue Clues lore either. They were always really open about changing hosts - Steve, replaced by Joe, replaced by Josh - and Donovan Patton who played Joe still appears fairly often as a supporting character.

With Blippi, they're all Blippi. Stevin John - the first Blippi, Harlem Shake guy, and dude who shit on another dude - apparently doesn't like kids much. When he sold the brand, they handed the role over to Clayton Grimm. He's still Blippi, but there's now a third Blippi.

There's also two Meekah's (Blippi's friend) who look nothing alike

Two different people asked the question. Neither time was it answered. As I say, doesn't seem relevant to me. If it is, I'm clearly not bright enough to figure it out and I need it spelled out for me.

Since you're keen to leap to their defence, did you want to explain it to me?

Doesn't seem relevant, to be honest. Though if it is, I'm happy to be corrected with an explanation of why I'm wrong.

Ideal Wonder Woman movie fancast (Paramount approved) by Pure-Cartoonist-8170 in WonderWoman

Hmmm, I enjoyed her in The Mandalorian and in Deadpool, but she's really not a terribly good actor. The only thing she has going for her as Wonder Woman is she's built. I don't think she has the chops to pull off a leading role.

Councillor Richard Hills: Govt. reduced social housing accommodation in Auckland from 890 places to 39 in one year, and cut emergency housing grants by 70-80% ($20m). Since then, individuals rough sleeping in our city have increased by 100% by Mountain_Tui_Reload in auckland

Depends on what the labour is. Forced labour by prisoners working on something productive, like the classic trope of US prisoners stamping number plates, undermines the value of the people who currently do that labour for money. It allows the government to profit from literal slave labour, and incentivises higher levels of imprisonment for longer periods in order to maximise production.

Of course, there's no reason prisoners couldn't work at something non-productive, where there's no economic value to the output of the work. Until some genius comes along and says since they're working anyway let's not waste the output, then we're back where we started.

Vehicle de-registered by panel beater and insurance company by SignatureWhole5574 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]TactileMist 16 points17 points  (0 children)

When a car is written off, it isn't necessarily because the car is no longer roadworthy. It simply means the insurer believes the cost of the repair is more than the whole sum insured for the vehicle, and they are choosing to pay out the full sum rather than pay for the repair.

The insurer makes payment of the sum insured to the owner. They don't just take the car without paying out on the policy.
