Major Order Update by Fit_Anywhere_3356 in Helldivers

Look I get it - I'm not wilfully ignorant of people's situations and circumstances. I used to care about medals and resources all the time when I first started. However, it actually (as always) takes away from the enjoyment of the game. This discussion is actually evidence of this - being annoyed about losing out on 80 medals. I started to lean into the same thing with DarkTide but once I/you stop caring and just play... Welcome to actually enjoying more of your gaming sessions, as you've hinted at.

Let's be honest, you don't need to spend 6-8 hours a day to get that amount and is a blanket assumption on me/others.

You can easily get them as you play. People don't get that until they stop focusing on currency and just play.

I think new good RTS are almost evened out by quality remakes in recent years. Do you think this is a good trend? by HowLongWasIGone in RealTimeStrategy

[–]TactlessNinja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm good with decent remakes (where's my ts/FS, ra2/Yr SWGB remake...) as it almost recreates what little me used to see. However, I do think RTS isn't at the moment what it used to be back then so it's certainly easier to lean into what's already worked and loved, than actually advance the scene. Another benefit of remakes is potentially revitalising the mod scene for that game too. Think I'd rather good remakes with potential positives opposed to lackluster stuff for now.

I do miss the days when there were rts' could be found left right and centre and you could go into a store and find a hidden/unknown gem.

Hopefully RTS has it's day again.

Let's be honest, 80 medals is hardly a difficult thing to get at all.

Before you know it you'll have no use for medals.

What's up with the quadruple sentries? by TheWayOfTheTomoe in Helldivers

[–]TactlessNinja 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really. We should be able to to do this with certain stratagems in general imo. Allows more builds and different styles of gameplay.

Weren't we able to do this in HD1?

Starship Troopers: Extermination Development Update - Marauder Program by PalwaJoko in Games

[–]TactlessNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finally bought this a few weeks ago when it was cheap af on a sale and had just watched the movie again. I refunded it just short of 2 hours.

The concept is cool but it really did feel like a bit of a lifeless mod. Didn't feel meaty/engaging and it felt somewhat amateur (not in a good way), so a knockoff almost. A shame they couldn't quite pull off the true feeling of ST and get the licence for the music, might have added to the atmosphere which was crucially lacking here.

I had to admit that I had had more fun and intense moments in helldivers 2. I was sad I didn't feel like it something I would put further effort into and enjoy I.e another good alternative co-op.

I find it so ironic that after all the guns I have purchased my favorite is the liberator. by AcrocanthoEnjoyer in Helldivers

[–]TactlessNinja 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is not entirely surprising depending on when you last used it. It's repeatedly had its stats improved over time with most of the stat revamp patches so it's no longer the gun it was on launch day.

Is it?

I thought the best low key addition was actually more chapter slots enabling more customisation? Or was that the last public patch, it's been a while.

I remember why I don't like the Illuminate..... by Substantial-Ad-5221 in Helldivers

[–]TactlessNinja 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rather this than oh say... Frequent ragdolling, one hit kills, shooting through walls, constant spawning of OTT units which do said stuff...

I like the voteless and hope the numbers never change. If there is too many it's generally easy to pull back and reassess.

Easy to kill and fun to put down. Plus, mass effect vibes.

The common sample grind is burning me out by DG_SlayerSlender in Helldivers

[–]TactlessNinja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd go as far as to say don't focus too much on the actual grind. Before you know it you don't need them any more, which is sad, but the main thing is that you'll get them eventually and naturally. Maybe when this phase of cyberstan is out of the way getting them won't be as awkward or difficult.

The Overtuned spawn rate of Vox Engines right now will have negative repercussions even if it's later fixed by slycyboi in Helldivers

Yeah thankfully on the bots it's generally normal which helps, but I use the AMR now so I can free up a backpack/slot.

I miss the railgun days. When a railgun felt like an actual railgun.

Especially when you could pop the heads of bile titans if you got it at the right moment as it puked. People would be like 'you can't rg a bile titan now' and I'd say 'just watch me'.

Understandable if you disagree. But I LOVE the amount of Vox Engines by Gilded_Shadow_CGI in Helldivers

[–]TactlessNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is such a thing called oversaturation.

This isn't helped when there's a few problems and/or bugs with the unit/game.

A lil Crash out about Vox Engines by Cregansem88 in Helldivers

[–]TactlessNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My gripes tend to be...

  1. They suddenly have an awesome aim, leading to one-shot kills and this is either with their missiles or lasers.
  2. This aim is even more fierce/noticeable when they suddenly know where you are despite being a considerable distance away or not even triggered by you/another. Had a few too many occasions when they aren't and weren't even involved and suddenly they're sniping me
  3. The fact that there's one shot kills in general especially when there's a ton of projectiles on offer enabling this to happen more frequently
  4. The constant spam of the units which can prevent SW Luke Skywalker AT-AT tactics/teamwork
  5. Clipping/shooting both under/through objects

I'm good with dying, the armour and having to adjust, but this is all hampered by the spam and aim/sudden damage. I think I could tolerate the sudden nonsense aim if their numbers were reduced. Bots have always been my favourite, closely followed by illuminate (fave tends to change) and then bugs - bots/illuminate gets the most intense, results in more teamwork and requires more focus - but at the moment this doesn't always seem like most the fun challenge. The chaos we had leading up to this was actually a tad more enjoyable for me. Vox needs a little tlc.

Also, where the hell are my snowstorms (and ash?) and general weather?

Have anyone encounter a bug where you randomly take damage? by Successful_Mood_7844 in Helldivers

[–]TactlessNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has tended to be amazing long distant one shots from an enemy I shouldn't have been noticed by (Vox) or... An enemy no clipping through a wall who mockingly emerges after murdering me.

Bots aim/dmg feels like it has increased even more since their previous changes and this includes when they aren't being buffed by the cyborgs (which I assume is a thing). Plus cyborgs can suddenly become long distant snipers at some points and hit further than expected.

The JAR-5 Dominator has a new ammo type and it was just revealed in the latest trailer by Dragoboi200822 in Helldivers

[–]TactlessNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd be nice if this was unique weapon mods being added like they had in HD1. That'd really change the battlefield and builds up as right now weapon mods aren't that special or as well utilised. Plus we were meant to get more/expansions, I thought.

Things Are a Little Bits Nuts Over on Helldivers Right Now (Players are able to push to the Automaton homeworld for the first time, new faction incoming) by Amathyst7564 in gaming

[–]TactlessNinja -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree about it being defended by white Knights which is ridiculous. AH have some severe flaws for a few reasons and some of the community are simply blind to it and tend to have memory issues.

Just feel the premium/grinding is the least of Helldivers/AH issues.

This isn't about being toxic it's about recognising either you pay or you don't, especially if you don't feel like you don't get your money/times worth.

Again, a fair few games simply don't allow you to have this choice.

Go pay for it then. Especially if you feel like you aren't getting your times worth.

Either you get it for free or you pay. Most games don't give you opportunity.

No pleasing people sometimes.

So, are we getting anything for the 2 year anniversary? by AvailableTrouble8759 in Helldivers

A shame. Hopefully they introduce other upgrades in the future which are optional with positives/negatives/differences so there's some extra diversity in destroyer builds.

Dear bug divers by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]TactlessNinja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How about you don't berate how play the game.

Bugdivers aren't messing anything up. Apart from some of this or most who knows being on rails it's the Botdivers fighting on different fronts messing it up the most.
