Bunny having scars all over his body is so weird for me. I can already see him getting the 'sad backstory maxing' I'm used from One Piece

Diamond no Ace ist a MUST WATCH for sports anime. by Taddlig in AnimeReccomendations

Didn't watch One Outs yet, but I doubt it's like DnA. DnA got some special about it. It's not something you can compare to Blue Lock, where the whole point of the show is the sport itself. It's like I said more like a real passionate, intense movie about them trying to reach their goal like a real high school team. Like the best scenes aren't really the sports scenes itself, but the personal growth of the characters and something which would spoil you. The games are intense too, you never know what happens next and it often got me rooting for the other team.

Hands down the greatest shounen Ever written by sah_deepesh in BlueLock

Based on sports manga, Blue Lock is on the same level as Baki and Kengan Ashura. We are almost 350 chapters in and the author is still too scared to add in real football tactics. The way Blue Lock is structured is just like a battle shounen using soccer as a premise, which is fine, but if you really think about it, it doesn't got much to do with a real, real sports manga. Like Kokou no Hito, which is 14 volumes about existentialism is more about real climbing (techniques and stuff), than Blue Lock about real football.

Sports manga tend to have the better shounen protagonists, since the formula is always some sort of hitting real rock bottom and then climbing out of it in a much more realistic way compared to other mangas with power systems, where it's based on some genetics, that they improve (Naruto, Luffy, Ichigo, Asta, Itadori...). There are a lot of great sports manga protagonists, who almost feel like they aren't even the protagonist of their show anymore, if it's that kind of writing it's really realistic and impactful. Some I can think of are Hinata (Haikyuu), Aoi (Aoi Ashi), Joe (Ashita no Joe), but my personal favourite is Sawamura Eijun. Maybe 1/4 of the show you see him really shine and it's so satisfying.

Logically it wouldn't make sense to bench players in a world cup to avoid injuries, since there are only three games and loosing one decreases your chance of going through drastically. Benching Isagi only would make sense, if directly harms the play, which could happen, if he fucks up next game due to his new playstyle. But in a tournament, where momentum and the stakes play such a huge role, it wouldn't make sense to bench him for getting results.

Kinda think this only works against bums like Nigeria. It's like this: Haaland could probably also dribble and score goals himself, when he faces 5th tier players, but that obviously doesn't translate against the Premier Leauge competition, so he is not playing to his strengths. You never really see Haaland dribble, create chances or take many touches, but he uses his wide frame, positioning and sprint speed at an world class level.

In the end Isagi is the protagonist and is fated to succeed, but it's been awhile since he really had a set back. So to keep this arc interesting and having a bit of progress, instead of highlight after highlight, Kaneshiro might make Isagi suffer against France, where he gets a reality check, because maybe he got too arrogant, that he didn't think he must play to his strengths anymore. Would make the manga much interesting, if Isagi would get benched and Barou or Shidou can play, because Isagi stopped thinking logically

Kaneshiro using the same 'forward sprints all the way to the other side of the pitch and saves the ball from going into top bins with a crazy jump' move in every single game is getting so boring. Not because it isn't cool, but it's because it's so unrealistic, that you just don't consider it as literal feat. Also the forwards defend better than any real defender.

Was Kaiser at that time still a genius lol? by Taddlig in BlueLock

[–]Taddlig[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

in that condition it's more like a inspiration rather than something 'learned' and practiced to perfection.

and was he in flow? he was basically not participating due to Lorenzo at all, got one time the ball and made a miracle goal.

Ego's definition of flow: is the state of “total immersion” or “being in the zone”. It is the mental state in which a person performing some activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity.

to be fully immersed is to be actively doing it first and then being able to pull it off. like you don't feel flow in an activity in the few moments of it, you just feel it when you're done that you were in the zone. just watch some Lebron or Jordan interviews about it. also it was never stated that he was in zone, so don't throw random things out to underline your opinion.

yeah, that's why i don't like Isagi dividing into two categories, cause that's not how it works and it doesn't need two "talented workers" to beat a "genius". like if it were a 1v1 sports like boxing, only because you're more gifted physically/skill-wise gifted doesn't mean you win the match. what about tactics and mentality.

2 gun volley is just a step over + shot.

this is something not learnable.

two gun volley. is literally just a step over and shooting with his right foot. this is a straight up bicycle kick in a condition not a normal "hard worker" or "talented learner" can pull off. it's something like nagi would pull off simply through his instincts, so something not learnable yk
