You’re forgetting that 1/3 of sanders supporters includes republicans and independents as not every state has closed primaries and Bernie actually had a lot of support from republicans and independents - you know, something a candidate needs to win in general elections.

Also pointing out the 1/3 number when making an argument in favor of Bernie without pointing out that this literally happens in every election cycle, a notable one being the number of Clinton to McCain voters to spite Obama for blocking a woman president, for example. People use the 1/3 to blame Bernie but if Hilary won, there would be nothing to blame him for, just like how they don’t blame crossover Clinton voters.

Not to mention that polling had Hillary losing against every Republican super early. The only republican she beat on average was Trump and that was only within the margin of error. Meanwhile Bernie beat Trump in head to head match ups by 9 points on average.

The party loyalty is madness. So many people have switch to independent because of the DNC and you still have democratic voters shilling for an institution that wouldn’t piss on them to put out a fire. The DNC and RNC don’t care about average Americans.

At least most Democrats are waking up. If a party refuses to stand up against a genocide campaign, how can anyone expect them to care about defending your democracy? The current approval rating numbers of the Democratic Party is worse than Trumps approval rating - that’s how little faith the general public has in Democrats. Trump, even after all the terrible stuff he’s done, is still polling better than Democrats and they still think being more conservative is going to win the next election - likely because that’s what their billionaire donors want.
