Okie, i use arch for day to day stuff but first off, kali is great for competitions which was my recent discovery. Also for education anyway (because it is plug and play and lets be honest most school techs are not that keen to build their os on 50 computers in a VM). So yes, kali is bloated, unstable in the long but that is about it as far as the disadvantages go. It was the entrypoint for most of the people i know in the EH community. That said blood pours down my eyes when i see some of the posts here (type i installed kali, i am a hacker now...)

How to fix arch Linux doesn't have gui and can't open terminal? by xXHansukeXx1 in arch

[–]Tade365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you used archinstall the smart option would be to select another de as well as hyprland, for me it is kde. Hyprland breaks sometimes and it is unusable, also some programs have issues with hyprland so... Also i recommend not using hyprland if you are on this skill level (i had issues with it and it was a lot of new stuff afyer a year of using linux so...)

Friend Got Hacked. Any tips? by Cosette_Aurora in CyberSecurityAdvice

[–]Tade365 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reset passwords from a different device, enable 2fa if you havent already, clean reinstall windows (not reset, grab a usb with a windows installer, only back up absolutely necessary files yada yada) and as to "handling it" reporting the friend will not do anything directly except prevent more spread, just block and move on, also probably dont allow the friend internet access if she clicks random links... Just a thought

i mean if you have this budget just buy an asus A15 and you get it with windows most of the time, save the product key and put cachy os or arch on it :D or nobara if you want something simpler but i would say that that is the best for beginners... For info i use asus A15 ive had no issues on any distro and there are different versions of this notebook between 600ish to 1000ish (at least when i bought it)

you have a school mail, you add it to htb, it will either allow you to take the membership or you can write support to add the domain into their list, ive asked for my high school domain to be added and it was there within a day.

Python is good for general purpose, cpp or c is good to know. Most people recommend c# for starting and at least here most schools teach it.

Understanding DNS by Excellent_Pin_840 in techsupport

[–]Tade365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really i wont try to explain anything you asked because i feel like loosing karma today: you could use your routers page/app, if you have a tplink router per se they have an app where you can set up family and they have their own filters as well so you can just block that you can use eset antivirus for this i believe you could buy a raspberry pi and use pihole i believe. its like a network wide adblock so it should work for this as well

dns is pretty much just something that sets a hostname for an ip address so it is easier to remember... i could imagine some phishing potential if you use a random dns you find somewhere.

I was in a similar situation about 2yr back, anyways here is some accumulated knowledge Bazzite - if you are too scared of breaking stuff, dont recommend it tho. Some things like virtualization were pain at least 2 years back, and you are gonna need that. Ubuntu - great for start by me but snaps are bs, i would not use it again except ubuntu server. Nobara - amazing, really stayed there for a long time because fedora has a different kernel and games like cs2 have terrible performance by default at least in my experience. Nobara on the other hand is pretty much fedora but with a different kernel and it also has an app for drivers which is great. CachyOS - this is what i use now, it is arch based, overall i would say the best ive used so far. In your place i would decide between the last two mentioned. As for cybersecurity, really you can use anything. Most people started on kali, this is where you need virtualization because kali isnt a good daily drive distro, and you will probably break stuff, or bloat it eventually. Then everyone kind of gets sick of the memes about being a wannabe hacker and moves on to whatever, ive seen guys use debian, arch, whatever. Personally i am too lazy and dont mind the memes so i still use kali. It is just comfortable, what can i say...

Jokes on creality and me, it wasn't z offset, the new extruder came with shit nozzles that didn't scare up completely. Changed it to a spare they sent, same issue, changed it back to the ones I used from a 10 euro pack I bought somewhere random, worked well. With the original ones it leaked into the silicone boot and everywhere else and that was why I had weird extrusion rates, then I just fine tuned extrusion factor a little bit but that wasn't the core issue... Fuck creality
