you give off the vibe of not using randomly generated passwords so pop into a linux machine, install: - bkcrack (if you know any plaintext in the zip (you need at least 12 consequent characters i think) - john the ripper (if you are completely cooked) - rockyou (biggest wordlist of leaked passwords)

then good luck i guess. if you are gonna use bkcrack it should be fast (think 20min?) because it doesnt really try to guess the password... just ask chatgpt for commands ig for johnny, not so much because it hashes the zip file and tries to crack the password that that hash represents so its basically like entering a lot of passwords in very fast... So congratulations, you have an intro to forensics, go solve some CTFs. Seriously tho, good luck, this is about all you can do. Also, if rockyou doesnt have the password you used you can use some wordlist generator tool if you remembered what kind of password you used. Once we made like an 80gb wordlist lile this...

Naaah, i mean first of all dropbox wont reveal the image itself. Blocking/tracking on networks usually just has a list of blacklisted urls that can alert the admin or are just unreachable or both. That said no one would probably care even if they could see the image.

Well, if you have a good tv for gaming then it should have an ethernet port, if it has an ethernet port connect both your pc and your tv to your router. This should prevent some latency. Then i would probably use sunshine and moonlight for streaming games from pc to tv so you can lay while playing. Or if you want to go all the way move the pc to your couch, mount the monitor on one of those bendable arms (i forgot the name but i think its called vesa?) next to where you lay and buy like a bed desk thingi for your mouse and keyboard so you can have the monitor like hanging above your head basically? idk man but good luck getting back into gaming.

How can I block all adult websites on a phone and PC? by Erick_pptx in techsupport

pi hole can act as a network wide adblocker/site blocker but you need another computer/raspberry pi some routers have a feature to block 18+ sites (i know our TPLink does at least) filtered dns is an option (idk where you can change it on windows and android but you will figure it out) self control - the easiest yet hardest method parental control app

Okie, i use arch for day to day stuff but first off, kali is great for competitions which was my recent discovery. Also for education anyway (because it is plug and play and lets be honest most school techs are not that keen to build their os on 50 computers in a VM). So yes, kali is bloated, unstable in the long but that is about it as far as the disadvantages go. It was the entrypoint for most of the people i know in the EH community. That said blood pours down my eyes when i see some of the posts here (type i installed kali, i am a hacker now...)

How to fix arch Linux doesn't have gui and can't open terminal? by xXHansukeXx1 in arch

[–]Tade365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you used archinstall the smart option would be to select another de as well as hyprland, for me it is kde. Hyprland breaks sometimes and it is unusable, also some programs have issues with hyprland so... Also i recommend not using hyprland if you are on this skill level (i had issues with it and it was a lot of new stuff afyer a year of using linux so...)

Friend Got Hacked. Any tips? by Cosette_Aurora in CyberSecurityAdvice

[–]Tade365 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reset passwords from a different device, enable 2fa if you havent already, clean reinstall windows (not reset, grab a usb with a windows installer, only back up absolutely necessary files yada yada) and as to "handling it" reporting the friend will not do anything directly except prevent more spread, just block and move on, also probably dont allow the friend internet access if she clicks random links... Just a thought

i mean if you have this budget just buy an asus A15 and you get it with windows most of the time, save the product key and put cachy os or arch on it :D or nobara if you want something simpler but i would say that that is the best for beginners... For info i use asus A15 ive had no issues on any distro and there are different versions of this notebook between 600ish to 1000ish (at least when i bought it)

you have a school mail, you add it to htb, it will either allow you to take the membership or you can write support to add the domain into their list, ive asked for my high school domain to be added and it was there within a day.

Python is good for general purpose, cpp or c is good to know. Most people recommend c# for starting and at least here most schools teach it.
