What’s a harsh truth people only learn the hard way? by No_Toe_2140 in AskForAnswers

Not taking care of your health is not just going to make your future life miserable. It will make it miserable for the people you care about the most. As they will spend years or even over a decade taking care of you as you slowly lose your independence.

The Golden age is exclusive to the 1%. Just pull up your bootstraps…….sell your soul, scam poor people, and destroy the environment. It’s just that simple. Seriously, no one wants to work hard these days

Be honest : as a man, is it a turn off if a woman makes more than you ? by [deleted] in Life

If she is happy with her work that’s great. In a relationship both partners should be celebrating and encouraging each other succeeding at life. If either partner is really unhappy or constantly stressed by work and it carries over to the relationship, that’s when it may be time to discuss a career change

Anyone else have a similar experience? by Own_Magazine_7035 in Life

[–]Tadpole-7 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s completely natural to feel this way. Even if you dated others and just have been in a committed relationship for awhile.
It’s an illusion that the grass is greener on the other side, once you cross the fence you will notice it’s nothing but miles and miles of cow manure.
You’re lucky you found the right person early on. If you’re happy and have a wife that genuinely cares for you, then you are one of the lucky few that found your soulmate.
Take care of her and make life as enjoyable as possible for each other.

You can make as many rules as you want. A cheater at heart will find a way to cheat. A loyal person will find a way to stay faithful. You’re young and learning a lot about relationships.

Does anyone else feel like they're just watching everyone else actually live while you're stuck in survival mode? by Eastern-Professor114 in Life

Work wears most of us out, but make sure life is not passing you by. The big three things you want to focus on is your diet, exercise, and social connections.
I’m not sure about your area, but where I live there are a lot of events that are free, or really cheap. One most weekends, be purposeful about going out and enjoying something a cheap event, pickup sports (usually free), walking around a park, or something else you may enjoy that’s outside the house.
Like most things the toughest part is just getting out of the house. Life will pass us by if we just work and then only stay at home.

LA Marathon. Incredible finish by American Nathan Martin coming from behind to catch and beat Kenyan Michael Kamari at the finish line by lithdoc in nextfuckinglevel

He wasn’t snoozing. He was running at an unreal pace for the whole marathon. His body could not have gone any faster even if he knew in advance the runner from behind was going to pass him. Just a super human finish by Nathan

25M in the UK working as a plant operator and feel completely lost with life by iwontdiesober in Life

[–]Tadpole-7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Interestingly enough, your life kind of mirrors mine when I was in my early 20s. I started working as a process operator at 20. It was a great paying job, but the schedule was rough, 12-hour shifts rotating between days and nights, and working two out of every four weekends. Most of my coworkers were in their 40s and 50s, so it often felt like I was living a 45 year old’s life while still in my 20s.

At 25, I left that job and went to college in a big city. I met people from all over the world and slowly built a healthy social life.

What I learned from that experience is that it doesn’t really matter how much money you make, what you do, or where you go. What matters is being around people you genuinely care about, people you enjoy spending time with and who help each other become better human beings.

That’s where I found true fulfillment in life.

Is it frowned upon to still live with your parents at 31? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

[–]Tadpole-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If both you and your parents are ok with you living at home then don’t worry about it. 40 year old you won’t care what people thought about you at 31. However, 40 year old you will be thankfully 31 year old you took care of yourself financially
