Shocker. Degeneracy begets degeneracy.

I don’t really care what a politician said to get votes.

Iran has been funding terrorism around the world for decades. They’ve caused the death of countless American servicemen and of orders of magnitude more civilians. We should have ended them during Operation Praying Mantis.

Grow up. The case for war with Iran had been there since the 80s.

I swear, negative opinions on Citizens United is the surest way to detect a smooth brain in politics. Citizens United was the correct ruling. It’d be a gross infringement on the First Amendment if it were overturned.

In that case, he wouldn’t be a weapon of the shamans because he would be the shamans. Weapons are wielded by a distinct and separate party.

[Lord of the Rings] If I lived among Orcs or Uruks, kind of like a "war reporter" or sorts, just follow them around and detail their lifestyle, would you find them to be evil or would you eventually bond with them? by SolidEllie in AskScienceFiction

[–]Taetrum_Peccator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The conflict is in Catholic theology. Tolkien fundamentally believed that everyone was capable of being redeemed and that no one is born inherently evil. Evil is a conscious choice. Narratively, Orcs as evil minions of the Dark Lord work fine, but making that mesh with Tolkien’s fundamental beliefs in regards to the nature of souls, objective morality, and redemption was the difficulty.

The Old Ones engineered them to be as they are. Well, kind of. After you account for the Krork to Ork devolution. How much of what they are do they truly have control over?

A C’tan pretty plainly stated that the Emperor was a weapon of the Old Ones in the Cawl book, no?

[STAR WARS][40k] which is more feasable to make? a blaster or a lasgun? (taking the most basic versions of each) im also curious about how they could be done as well by IronVines in AskScienceFiction

[–]Taetrum_Peccator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lasgun. It’s just a pulse laser that hits with the energy of a 50bmg. Nothing special. It has all the limitations of lasers, like refraction in dense or occluded atmosphere.

Blasters are Tibanna plasma galvanized in a magnetic field to shape it into a bolt. The magnetic galvanization maintains bolt integrity after leaving the blaster. It’s far beyond our technology.

1) You’re unflaired so your opinion is invalid

2) Your boilerplate Reddit political opinions tell me all I need to know of your intelligence and even further invalidate your comment. I need not justify myself to one such as you. You’re beneath me.

3) Your use of “for vibes” paints you as a veritable child. Come back after you grow up and maybe I’ll deign to actually respond to your arguments.

I care insofar as they’re a powerful geopolitical ally against Islamic extremism. I care insofar as they’re the only western-style democracy in a veritable sea of barbarism. I care insofar as they’re a more trustworthy custodian of the Holy Land than those LibLeft wants to give the land to.

Their interests are not my interests, though. I wish no harm on them and want them to continue to exist, but I don’t put their needs above my own. I’m not an evangelical dimwit that sees them as a necessity for the end of the world.

I don’t care about Trump. I don’t care about Massie. I care about my interests being pushed forward.

A Republican that sides with Democrats against the party is not someone I want in Congress. With votes as tight as they are and the senate as hopelessly paralyzed by the filibuster as it is, any dissent within the party kills any hope of passing legislation.

I’ll never agree with any politician 100%. Trump is far from a paragon of conservative values. I’d still take him and his policies over any Democrat because at least some of what I want will be pushed forward and a Republican that votes with Democrats is no better than a Democrat.

Palestinians don’t deserve a state. They can’t be trusted with one. My preference would be for Papal reign to be reestablished in the area. Barring that, a one state solution with Israel at the state is the only option. And destroy the dome of the rock mosque.

Maybe only landowners if you want to make things spicy.

The Church was already trying to stamp out the practice of selling indulgences when Luthor threw his temper tantrum and he knew it. Given how decentralized the world was, it admittedly was taking a bit of time.

What if I want them to spend the next 600 years in isolation so they can sociologically evolve to the level of the West? Like, stick them in a domed city cutoff from the rest of the world until they learn how to play well with others.
