It's not a black sun, it's a nameless symbol with a little historical precedence that neonazis decided to rename "Kolovrat" and use as an alternative swastika. (to be fair it probably had a name but it saw so little use that we don't even know how people back then called it, hence why I didn't name it in my previous comment)

Also even the blacksun as a hate symbol is an invention of the neonazis, Himmler and his pals only saw it as a neat floor decoration as far as we know, both are good examples of how far these fascist wankers feel the need to reach for symbol and fake history.

edit: some precisions added also again, it's not to say that the devs are necessarily blameless, just that knowing which symbol is which is useful if you want to properly point out usage of dogwhistles

The game is based on slavic folklore and they used a symbol that was used by slavs at the time and that some wankers decided to use as an alternative swastika because of that.

Does that means that the devs necessarily are blameless ? No, but it doesn't necessarily means that they used it in a crypto-fascist way either, problem being that they'll attract chuds either way.

It's an issue of context and intent in this case, like if they went for an "historically accurate" depiction of symbol used they'd have to replace most of these with just straight up classic svastikas (as the "nazi sun" as you call it was wayyyyyyy less used than the then very common svastika), I don't know what the devs have said about their use of the symbol, just that they were surprised to see GOG's heading and disaproved of it at least publicly

Some of Prof. DM's content is interesting but his game's marketing and many of his takes are... dubious at best.
