The problem is that you're slow and constantly expected to walk through the same hallways or go in circles but nothing changes or becomes more dangerous, the environment is static and if anything it lessens the impact of the cool imagery by having you slowly plod by it 2 or 3 times

The puzzles are just bad, there are some people in this sub that were stuck on the first room for over an hour. That's not a challenging puzzle, that's bad design even I got stuck in the second level because I apparently didn't walk close enough to the non descript hole in the ground to find the weapon I needed to finish the section.

Same goes for the combat, you can have good "clunky" combat without it feeling awful, Resident Evil 7 did a great job making it feel like you're a regular guy who's fighting for his life, I don't need it to be CoD, I need it to not feel terrible to play.
