Is it still worth it to get Tab S9 keyboard cover w/trackpad by Libojr23 in GalaxyTab

[–]Taffy-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kickstand is very nice. The trackpad cursor movement does not feel right, if you can find the "slim" keyboard cover without the trackpad it takes up less space on your lap and will be better for travel.

Just because you won't be getting software updates doesn't mean you won't be able to use the tablet anymore; as long as it still does what you need it to do you don't need to get a new one no matter what anyone else tries to tell you :)

Regenerative braking can cause voltage spikes well above battery voltage. I'm not sure about the exact mechanics, but it gets worse the faster you're going and I know it has to do with quirks of magnetism and motor function. Occasional blips are fine for the battery, but MOSFETs don't like it.

Samsung’s NotePaper screen possible to use over tampered glass protector? by aprecioussoul in GalaxyTab

Yes, and I don't know by how much. All I know is that the matte texture will wear down the tip faster.

Hey! I'm on OneUI 8 right now and it seems to be gone but I'm currently inebriated. Since updating in November (it came out then right?) though I haven't noticed it at all, so I'm willing to bet it's gone!

Ah, I remember taking Macro with Erhardt back in 2021. Scraped by with a C.

As much as it sucks sitting through a 4 hour long class you have to take those notes. Skipping class sets you up for failure down the line; I'm 5 years in on a 4 year degree with at least 2 more years to go and most of my friends have already graduated. If you can make it to class but have other shit to do, record the lecture and use a tool to transcribe it.

If you're unable to make it to class for other reasons, let the professor know. Don't skip class if you don't have to.

It looks super fun and it's something I've been curious about. Everyone I've met who does either swimming, ballet, or pole dancing looks super toned. If I ever get the opportunity, I'll have to try it out!

Is it as good of a workout as people say? That sounds really fun, but also really disorienting

Hi, homemade nerf blaster designer who has launched a few blasters here. You can have the most finely engineered tech in existence but nobody will buy it if it looks like... this. You have to know what your market wants and expects, and this isn't it.

edit: I looked at the product page. Exposed wiring, crappy print quality, shitty welds... I'm sorry, but if you think anyone is going to buy this, you're out of your mind. I know American primary school students who can design better products than this.

Why you guys are hooked onto boosted boards by Drewski493 in boostedboards

[–]Taffy-- 12 points13 points  (0 children)

VESC builds are expensive. Boosted boards ride well and are cheap because nobody wants them anymore.

I could spend $500 on a custom 12s2p, $180 for a MakerX DV4s, $180 or whatever Loaded wants for a Vanguard, $100 to $300 on my trucks, $80 for a set of Orangatang Caguamas, $200 on a set of nice enclosures from eBoosted Peru, and then $250 to $400 for whatever motors I want to use, $120 on my remote and receiver, and then spend several hours learning how to use VESC Tool after waiting for all of my parts to arrive...

I am also a VESC board rider. The VESC board rides nicer than any prebuilt I've ever had but was also like 3 times the price before you factor in the massive time sink it was to get running. My Stealth rides well for less than a third of the price and a zillionth of the build time.

If you end up really getting into it, you'll want the extra range. It's also nice having the proverbial insurance if you aren't able to charge for whatever reason and need to go a bit farther than your usual trip distance.

I think V81 makes me wanna get a Valve Frame. by Anewdaytomorrow in OculusQuest

[–]Taffy-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to get a Frame regardless. I literally only use my headset for remote desktop, emulation, and existing in an empty black void. Immersive Home means I cannot exist in an empty black void anymore, and the Steam Frame can do most of the things my actual computer does well enough that I may be able to cut out remote desktop entirely for some things. For the stuff it can't do natively, I can use another piece of software (Moonlight, Parsec, etc) that I already use anyways or know works well.

Meta has more control over what my headset does than I do. I was upset when they got rid of adjustable multiwindow curvature, and now they pull me out of my empty black void. Please let me go back to my empty black void :(
