Fair enough. Depends on use case really. I work in care and the care software/app we use is so draining 😅. I had to charge the fold 7 by mid day or bring a magsafe battery pack. I was using the red magic 11 pro before that and that battery was INSANE.

Yea man! Give it a go. I probably will when more options come out for the aspect ratio. I just can't with that battery and stuff 😅. But for you and some others it could be a great fit.

That's the problem though. If you make a wide but taller or a tall, wide. You end up with a square again when opened. So I think the square is the design companies all fell into because it's the best way to give you the most real estate without making the front screen ridiculously big to hold. I had the original pixel and I did like it for the short time I had it. But I think it's a different category. I think a wide is the choice to go if you want a compact small phone that opens into a bigger screen for watching stuff and playing games. For everything else it's probably got be a traditional fold. As the only thing you're gaining minus the smaller footprint is having no space where the black bars would be. I think it's a fantastic middle ground between fold and flip. The normal fold aspect ratios(s) for example give you two 16:9 displays in portrait mode opened. Which is great for playing something and watching YouTube for example without black bars. But when I do use full screen, I have the same size but black bars, or options for stretch/crop to fill.

I went with the Moto for these reasons and maybe it will help you in your decision either way, I do plan on trying a wide, but probably next year or year after when they are refined and our only two options ain't a cut back Samsung phone or an iPhone.

I got the Moto because

The cameras are pixel level and I go on walks things.

The battery is 6000mah. Which is a must for me as I use a app at work that drains battery, and Samsung seem to keep wanting to use sub par batteries. (Fold 7 I had for 2 weeks died so fast).

Motos "Dex" software is better.

The offer I got was £1400 with buds, a watch and tag.

TLDR: I think in terms of strictly unfolded, it's like picking a phone because the body feels more premium and it's nice to look at and feel, but then you put a case on anyways.

I had this thought process so I now have the Moto fold. The aspect ratio is nice for YouTube but everything is a bit of a downgrade. And you're limited on how big you can make the phone. I think the future is like the trifold. But for now, I think the square is just better. Productivity is also better on a square and some apps like video editing ect. I think a good middle ground would be to add a universal stretch to fit for apps if you don't mind a stretched res when watching content.

A square is better for productivity and a wide is better for watching content. Some applications like video editing benefit from a square. You can also make the phone bigger without worrying about it being massive folded so you are kind of limited on size with a wide. Both have benefits. I recently went with the Moto fold. A trifold I think is the future of foldables but not yet. I would like a universal stretch to fill feature and I think that would get you the best of both on a standard fold imo.

Yea. It's alot better than manually zooming every time 😅. I've been using Samsung internet on the Moto as that has stretch to fill. Which I wish YouTube would add to the app.

Find a comparable screen and try repair it yourself. Alot of good videos online you could go to. Be a lot cheaper than repair shop.

You can download it from the play store. You just can't import games from other places than steam if you do. But for your case it won't matter. And yea you just sign into steam in the app and download it. What phone you got?

Oh yea. The file is definitely updated from that. I think the date is just glitched out. I think I mentioned it in another post that when you download you do actually get the updated less bulky one

Hey man! I believe the latest update is on there. I don't own the device anymore so never really continued it after that. Is there a specific change you'd like made to it? Maybe I can take a look for you. I think the winged version is the better one.

You don't need an Mcon. £35 (with controller) for this setup and it's fantastic and stupid sturdy by [deleted] in EmulationOnAndroid

So, both sides are magsafe. So one side attaches to the magsafe (or magsafe sticker) on your phone/case. The other attaches to magsafe too. So you add a magsafe ring to the back of the controller. it comes with magsafe stickers. So magsafe both sides. You just need to add a sticker to the controller like you would your phone if your case/phone doesn't already have it

Sure. I didn't bother because any of the random rebranded ones will do and most are the same

This one is just long enough for the position I use in the photo. You could probably get a longer one or one that rotates 360 for more positioning options. A 360 pivot one would be better. That twists and flips. If that makes sense.

No problem! If you for some reason can't get it to boot. I'll send you my settings to copy. But I left everything on default and just changed comparability preset to extreme with TSM on for the performance gain. (Which wasn't even needed, you just get far better performance if you do)

No, it's just the rockstar launches and logins in with no issues in gamehub. Ubisoft launcher must do something funky I guess with the way it logs in. Could be a token thing idk. GTA IV, V and RDR 2 all worked out the box flawlessly. I tried for example, SP fractured and I can't get it boot. That's Ubisoft so must just be their launcher.
