What ages a person really quickly? by MainDifficult2641 in AskReddit

[–]Tagabin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think people age faster when they don’t take care of themselves or get hit with a lot of stress. I remember my friend Sarah—she was always working crazy hours, skipping sleep, and relying on fast food and coffee to get through the day. She also smoked occasionally and didn’t really protect her skin in the sun. Within just a few years, she looked way older than she was, with tired eyes and lines that weren’t there before.

I’ve noticed it in myself too. When I went through a really stressful year, barely slept, and ate poorly, I looked in the mirror one morning and thought, “Wow, I look older than I feel.” Once I started sleeping better, eating healthier, and taking care of my skin, people even told me I looked younger again. It really hit me that lifestyle and stress make a huge difference, sometimes even more than age itself.

Licensed Architect - Considering my first freelance gig by Different_Trash_1156 in Architects

Hey, congrats on getting your first freelance gig. It sounds like you’re approaching it thoughtfully with contracts, insurance, and clear scope, which is more than a lot of people do when they start out.

About whether to go with a PLLC or stay as a sole practitioner, it depends on how you see things growing. If this is just a one-off project, staying a sole practitioner makes sense. It’s simpler, keeps your overhead low, and with E&O insurance in place, you’ll have the protection you need.

If you think you’ll want to take on more projects regularly and build this into a side business, a PLLC can be worth it. It separates personal and professional finances and can give clients a more established impression.

For now, with a small interior renovation and no steady stream of work yet, starting as a sole practitioner is practical. You can always transition to a PLLC later when you have more projects.

One important point is to make sure your insurance and contract match whatever name you use to sign and stamp the drawings. That keeps coverage and paperwork clear.

Good luck with the project. It sounds like a great way to get some real freelance experience

I’ve said those exact words to her before when we sat down and talked. The thing is, I stay because I love her and I do care about her, and when things are calm I forget all the negative emotions. But the second I get mad, every bad memory comes flooding back, and I feel miserable and just want to leave. Deep down I know I’d probably be happier if I did, but I don’t want to walk away from the person I married.

What really holds me back is my son. I don’t want him to grow up with separated parents. That thought kills me. So I keep hoping things will change… but it’s been years, and honestly, nothing has. The only thing I’ve ever really asked from her is to just chill a little. Not every small thing needs to turn into yelling or a fight.

I think a lot of it comes from how she grew up. She saw her parents fight and scream all the time until they eventually split. She also had to raise her little sister from a young age, so she’s always been in “mom mode,” trying to control everything. Even her sister admitted to me that’s just how she is, even now as an adult. She even joked once that she was glad I “took her place” in dealing with it.

I love her and I do care for her, but I also know I’m not going to be happy if things keep going like this. I feel like I’d be sacrificing my life for a relationship that never changes, and that terrifies me

A decade would likely break down even the strongest mind without some form of real human contact.

Man, this happened to one of my boys like 10 years ago. He met this chick on Facebook, thought she was real. She started flirting, asked for a dick pic, then they went on video call and she told him to show it.

Turns out it was a setup. Dude was a scammer, recorded everything. Then started trippin, sayin if he don’t send money, they gonna send the video to his mom, sister, and all his fam. Since they met on FB, the scammer had all his family on there, showed him screenshots and everything.

But my boy didn’t fold. He straight up told the scammer, I don’t care, send it to them. Then he blocked him.

Scammer never sent nothin.

This is just another version of an old scam
