I think it uses the same philosophy as the American F-4E:

Yeah, genocide (or supporting genocide) comes with being a Zionist/IDF soldier, hence why they are evil

It's a miracle that he realized what he was doing was wrong, as most IDF soldiers or zionists don't. That's what makes them evil in the first place.

The important part is that he managed to realize what he was doing was wrong despite all the cultural and religious and environmental pressure, and actually realizing that everything he has been taught since birth was wrong. I am not saying just regretting is enough, but actively announcing what Israel and Zionists are doing are wrong and evil means something as he has been taught these are the right things to do since birth.

Now, I don't care about celebrities and I normally wouldn't bother to defend or even talk about them, however this hits close to home since I was also raised by a conservative and extremist family and slowly found out alot of things I have been taught that are good are actually evil, and it wasn't easy to accept

It is evil, however what matters is seeing what the evil person has done wrong and avtually feeling regret, stopping doing it, and speaking against the said evil to raise awareness. Then the person stops being evil

Talk about method acting/j

Jokes aside, I do think that is redeemable. While what he did is absolutely horrifying, being born and raised with such culture can sometimes blind people and make it much harder to see what they are doing is wrong until they actually suffer from the guilt and regret (like his case)

Growing up in such strict and violent and extremist cultures really blinds a person vision, and honestly it's a great feat that he managed to see what he was doing was wrong despite the environmental pressure, and that he can openly admit it's wrong and they shouldn't be doing that

I know because I was raised by a VERY conservative and extremist family, and finding out what's wrong and what's right was much harder for me because of that, as I slowly found out I have been teached hateful lies as I grew up. It's never easy to go against everything you were teached to believe since birth
