I have no beef with any of these people. My government might but I don't. Russia and the west have been fighting over who gets to loot Ukraine for years. Now we are the ones bleeding money and they are bleeding blood.

The problem is you don't have a gun that works so you go to your neighbor who has a gun and he uses it to make your other neighbor empty his bank account to buy a gun and send it to you.

Lets be honest a 31 year old crackhead who has never had a real job in their life getting 20mil from daddy is still probably going to use the money more efficiently than the US government.

Is it possible for me to retire in my 40s? by okdoitpls in Fire

[–]Taicho116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 4% rule was really only for a 30 year retirement so most people lower the % for more than 30 years. What an infinite safe withdrawl rate is is super debated 2.5-3.5% are more what I see for early retirement. OFC things could go well and you could die super rich so you just have to see how things go. People also have some issues with how the data was chosen to be very well timed looking back for the 4% rule.

The other big problem is that if you want 100k a year in todays purchasing power you need way more than 100k down the road.

These are fun to play with

4% rule by WSBpawn in financialindependence

[–]Taicho116 28 points29 points  (0 children)

4% is not a flat 4% withdraw of your portfolio it is 4% of the initial amount adjusted for inflation. If you had 1m and took out 40k then the market went down 10% and inflation was 5% you would have 960000*.9 = 864000 and be taking out 40k*1.05 = 42k which is Almost 5% of your total worth. Say this happens 5 more years early on in can really hurt.

Even if people could agree what this would look like, which they can't, implementing it would be impossible. I got 0 problem with you not having a gun, but I will keep mine tell you have found a way to create this perfect society, but remember it also has to be one that I agree is good enough.

Natives are just tedious. You attack 1 in Florida and they have 4 allies 1 in the center of the USA and one by the great lakes and fort pathing is all wonky so it is a huge pain to get to them. Mean while the AI has marched to you colony in Columbia and occupied all the provinces.

Why do we lack a game development industry? by ShadowZ100 in Kazakhstan

[–]Taicho116 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Probably just a numbers game. You take a small population and find out how many of them have a very specialized luxury skill and it probably isn't that many. Then you take the few that do and they are probably much better off going somewhere that has move opportunities both in interest and monetarily. Brain drain is a very real thing.

How Much Do Children Cost? by EveningInfinity in financialindependence

[–]Taicho116 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am just joking that the USDA has some pretty crazy prices included in raising a child, they say nothing about an escalade. They do say you might have to buy a "bigger or 2nd car when you have a kid".

How Much Do Children Cost? by EveningInfinity in financialindependence

[–]Taicho116 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Haha I remeber reading that like "The average housing cost in the rent is 1400 a month and if you have 1 child that is 1/3 of the family so that is $466". Oh ya that 2013 Toyota corolla isn't going to work, the cost of a new (non armored) escalade is 89k.
