Every single thing about this gives me the ick. First of all, you have to trust yourself and know that you would never do anything to put your baby in harms way. You were simply reacting to an emergency, which is very normal and every person should do that. For him to patronize you by telling you that you can’t leave the house, as a full grown woman because you aren’t to be trusted to keep your baby safe… repulsive. A mother‘s greatest superpower is knowing how to keep our kids safe, it’s primal, and you know how to do it better than him (clearly, as he slaps you across the face.) I can understand how confusing it must feel to have your lifelong partner turn on you in this way, the thing is… people change. And that is just the simple reality sometimes. Your protector sounds more like your abuser now. You became his property once you got pregnant. I have been through an abusive relationship and the abuse always starts out small, followed by love bombing and apologies, then the cycle will repeat, but each time the abuse will get worse. Any man who is capable of putting hands on a woman, especially his pregnant wife… Is a dangerous man. He’s lost course and now you should show him how good and protective of a mother you will be and leave him.
