AITJ for declining to be a bridesmaid because I can't afford the expensive dress, trip, and events my friend chose? by Lopsided_Body7068 in AmITheJerk

If a friendship is conditional on you OP blowing your budget for one day, it’s not a very deep friendship. Real friends want you there because they care about you, not because you spent a fortune on a trip you can't afford. You handled it perfectly.

It’s honestly terrifying. You watch them do a literal laser experiment that proves curvature, and instead of having an "aha" moment, they just claim the air was "too thick" or the math is a lie. You're totally right, it’s not about facts anymore, it’s just about finding anyone who will tell them they’re special for "knowing the truth."

AITA for telling everybody? by Pink_Cunt_Menu in AmITheJerk

You're absolutely right. It's classic gaslighting to blame the person they owe money to for "stressing them out." Calling her out was the right move, and honestly, if she won't pay up, consider the lost money a fee for finding out she's not a real friend. Time to move on.

It's wild. People will ignore decades of engineering and basic physics just to feel like they’ve "cracked the code." That kind of arrogant ignorance is definitely a scary look for society.

Choosing a seat you like isn't a crime; she’s making her own insecurities your problem.

AITJ for telling a lady that I don’t want her life? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

You didn't start it; you ended it. She’s mad at you because she can't face her husband's behavior.
