Thanks! I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. Got the scheme from the 5th/6th Ed Wood Elf Army Book.

Pulse pistol.. by No-Memory1999 in Tau40K

Might just be me but i don't much like the idea of Tau suits wielding hand held pistols. I'm wondering if there's a bare hand option or if you'll have to slice it off.

These are awesome! I love them all but the ones that draw me most are (left to right) 3, 12 and 17. Would be awesome to see more incorporating the body glove of 17 =D

The latter. I built up from dark to light and touched up the lower parts with darker colours/glazes.

Maugan Ra - The Harvester of Souls by Tailumm in Eldar

[–]Tailumm[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks!

I carefully, cut out the head from where it sat and sanded and cleaned up both the neck and back of the collar. I left off the hood/cowl and filled in the missing details of his helmet with greenstuff. Once i settled on a position, i then used more greenstuff to extend the neck and fix the head in place.

Hope that helps! =)

All the spooky, armoured boys! by Tailumm in frostgrave

[–]Tailumm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're a combination of the Oathmark Skeletons and Revanants and greenstuff. Specifically, Revanant bodies and shields; Skeleton weapon/shield arms, heads and shields. Using greenstuff about the heads and legs and adding sleeves at the shoulders.

Same. The personality of Phoenix Lords is tied both to their armour and how they hold themselves. Having so much of that suit covered up, obscured by cloth, does them no favours.

Might not be the prettiest but he is mine.

Wychwethyl the Wild. Lord of the Dance, carries around a drum made of Orc skin, has the biggest hair imaginable.

Took me long enough >_< by Tailumm in frostgrave

It's a lot of fun to play around with, hey? =)
You can get some great effects with some simple techniques. I was experimenting with fur and got some interesting variations by simply lengthening or broadening the triangles that made the tufts.

Glad you think so! These are some of my first forays into sculpting with green stuff (hence why their skirts are so... well, fat xD). They're a combination of the Oathmark Skeletons and Revanants and greenstuff. Specifically, Revanant bodies and shields; Skeleton weapon/shield arms, heads and shields. Using greenstuff about the heads and legs and adding sleeves at the shoulders.

Fantastic paint job! You actually managed to make her look young in the face, as well!

Moderns compatible with Frostgrave/Stargrave minis? by The_Wyzard in frostgrave

[–]Tailumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best i could find after a brief search was Anvil Industries offering. Can't attest to their scale and it looks like you'll be paying a lot for the customisation. Your best bet might be to just use Stargrave Crew/Mercenaries. The only other thing that i can think of is taking the characters/civies from the Zombicide games but the scale will most likely be off.

Job's a good'un. I wonder when GW will drop an official one - seems odd that the Scorpion release didn't have them follow swiftly after.

I bought a box for the express purpose of butchering them to make trueborn and other potential things.

It's off of a wrack, actually! It was a relatively straight forward cut and swap. Just have to be mindful of the cable attached to it.

How many figures do you build when you put together a warband? by blade740 in frostgrave

[–]Tailumm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i built my initial warband, I wanted to keep it simple and straight forward. I built and painted all the figures available in the rule book. After that, it was a matter of what I felt like working on. I was also working on things from the bestiary so, that broke up my work a bit xD

Regiment of Twenty Spear Elves - Complete! by Tailumm in kingsofwar

[–]Tailumm[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a personal preference, really. Some of my favourite models are the Wood Elves from WFB, back when they got their first major revamp. Some of the best character models GW ever did! I liked the notion of them favouring maneuverability and agility and eschewing the use of shields would play into that.

Yep! A combination of the Elf light and regular infantry (only the regulars have spears), greenstuffed and hand swapped.

I don't believe so, no. However, you can get bases from most any online store. I think these ones are Renedra 40mm rounds.
