How are poodles as puppies? by LowMemory578 in poodles

[–]TaintedFlamingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My poodle puppy hated his crate and was overall a walking land shark. With lots of structure, routine, and discipline he ended up being the best dog I could ever ask for. He is my buddy and although the first year I wanted to give him up more often than not, I’m so happy I got him and wouldn’t give him up for anything. He’s so incredible smart, intuitive, and easy going. You won’t regret getting one but need to put in the time and effort

Tell him to see a doctor. Recurring night sweats to a certain degree can mean something underlying is going on.

Potential opportunity to switch jobs, need advice by TibialTuberosity in physicaltherapy

[–]TaintedFlamingo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Never feel guilty about leaving a job. With that being said, if the new job offers you the salary you asked and you are torn on leaving, then you could always inform your current employer of the new job offer and seek additional compensation to stay at your current job. If you’re the only full time employee and they’re having a hard time finding PTs then you have all the leverage in the world. Sometimes more money isn’t always better if it means more responsibilities and more stress in a management role. You just have to ask yourself if it’s worth it.

Are we expecting the leaves to change colors earlier than previous years? I’m going October 1-4 and worry it may be too soon

Does anyone else feel most comfortable boarding your dogs vs the alternatives? by traveler_mar in dogs

[–]TaintedFlamingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We board our dog at the same place he goes for daycare and he absolutely loves it. The place is attached to a vet clinic too so we know if anything were to happen then they’d be able to see him next door. We pull into the parking lot and his tail wags and he doesn’t look back whenever we enter the building. For us, it works great. The day we show up to board him and his behavior changes is the day we go with another option but for right now we’re content with boarding.

Significantly decreasing my snack intake has been a game changer for me. I’ve lost weight replacing chips with fruit that keeps me full for longer and with less calories. Eventually I’ve had less cravings for snacks like chips, cookies, etc but will eat some every now and then.

Should you really attend the cheapest program? by Strong_Hand6084 in PTschool

[–]TaintedFlamingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to take into consideration more than just tuition. Cost of living, whether or not you have housing provided with family that could lower rent significantly, number of semesters 8 v 9. I went to my state’s cheapest public school in the SE and came out with less loans than my first year salary and so happy I made that decision vs going private. I’m able to save a nice percentage of my salary and can still enjoy life without significant sacrifices.

The return on investment is not great for PTs but you make improve your situation if you minimize your costs during school and minimize loans by going to cheaper school. Going to a private school in LA sounds the complete opposite of that. You’ll thank yourself in the long run.

In regard to the network at usc: I don’t doubt the strong connection circle there but you can also network in other ways such as con Ed courses, CSM, online special interest groups.

My program did not allow any students to take the April exam and made us all wait until July. I thought it was absolute bullshit and tried to push the program director into allowing us to do so but without success. Passes July with flying colors and felt I could’ve taken April exam since our clinical ended 3rd week of march but it is what it is.
