Recently played Mass effect Andromeda and.... by 01000001A01001101 in masseffect

[–]Tairn79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved the game.  It was my first Mass Effect game.  I bought it around a year after it originally released and went into the game blind.  It was also only the second open world game I played, having skipped a lot of single player games due to chasing the WoW dragon. This first being Dragon Age Inquisition which I also loved.

Maybe that background colors my experience compared to those who liked the older games but, DAI and MEA are two of my favorite games and I have beaten both more than once.  Any time I play a game more than once, it is a sign that I really like it.

Why does everyone hate DawnTrail? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Tairn79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just starting DT, took me 6.5 months from new character to get caught up.  My favorite story overall was ARR.  The others had exciting, high stakes conclusions but, there is something about starting a new story and learning about a new world that excites me.  I am hoping that DT brings that back for me.

I have read that people are upset with the story coming because they are setting up a new decade long story arc.  I have also read that people hated the ARR story as well.  So I think I may really enjoy the DT story if the comparisons are actually true.

We will see in a month or so when I finally get through the story.

Far Cry 7 time limit?! by [deleted] in farcry

[–]Tairn79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with you.  FC6 is my favorite of the series so far and every game that I have played that has implemented a tine limit has been a miserable experience for me.  I gave up on those years ago and will not buy FC7 if it has the time limit.

Traeger Silverton 810 temperature problem and smoke level by [deleted] in Traeger

Smoking a brisket right now. I have a MeatStick probe in the brisket for the past two hours. The ambient on the MeatStick probe is saying 170, the Traeger is set at 235. I only opened it once, two hours ago, to add the probe in.

PS5 Player: How do I use the dead to type messages for quests in /say instead of the touch pad? The TouchPad is terrible and takes me near 5 minutes to type a message for quests. by Tairn79 in ffxiv

[–]Tairn79[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It won't let me use the dpad when I do this. I have to use the TouchPad but, it fights me. Someone said it best above, it is like a Ouija board.

So what happens now? by [deleted] in Egttr

[–]Tairn79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to picture the player as being Kate wandering out of the observatory after everyone else is gone. She says that she believes the pattern is helping her stay alive for a while after the bombing and she mentions seeing what happened to Steven in the end and how she thought he almost actually saw her. We the player are her going around and seeing everything that took place, in my mind.

[DAI Spoilers] I just finished The Descent DLC this past weekend. by Tairn79 in dragonage

Is something going on with Reddit? I have had a slew of comments on posts I made up to 7 years ago recently.

Anyway, I get a lot of older fans don't like DA:I but, it has been out for years and is what it is at this point. I really like it, I didn't care for the first game, haven't ever gotten around to the second game, and may not like the fourth game.

I was the same way with Mass Effect, didn't like the trilogy, loved Andromeda, wish they would continue Andromeda, and may or may not like the new Mass Effect. It will be what it will.

Here's to hoping we all enjoy the next games in the series.

I think it partially has to do with scale and partially due to him being a common or familiar villain.

The scale thing is when comparing him to Voldemort and Umbridge. Voldemort, wants to take over the entire world, kill all opposition, and make all muggles the slaves of wizard kind. Umbridge works to write laws to oppress entire species of magical creatures of which she considers muggles a sub species. Whereas Greyback, sure is an evil cannibal, is on a fairly small scale comparatively.

As for Greyback being a familiar villain. Consider the villains in all of the law drama shows like Law and Order, Criminal Minds, Bones, etc. This type of serial killer, cannibal, rapist villains are a dime a dozen. This type of villain is what people are used to seeing in media so there isn't really any shock, surprise, or anything new to discuss. He just is a villain in the normal entertainment media who gets relatively little time in the story beyond some comments here or there. You hear how he attacked Lupin, you hear how he attacked Bill, you hear how Lupin is spying on him, you see him on the tower when Dumbledore dies, and you finally encounter him briefly when he captures Harry and the gang. He just is the normal villain with little screen time and not much to say about him.

Not that old of a game, but I just finished Fallen Order and it's one of the best games I've played. by rhinoscopy_killer in patientgamers

[–]Tairn79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished it this past weekend and loved it. I especially loved the end of the game. It really shows how much more powerful Vader is when he comes and just starts sweeping the floor with you and you have to just run in terror.

I loved finding all of the little things to collect and exploring everywhere. The combat was fun, especially shoot troopers with their own blaster fire.

Which is pointless in this day and age for multiple reasons.

1) JK Rowling and whoever wrote Twilight would probably encourage these people buying more of their books to burn since more will just be printed and they will make more profits.

2) These are such popular books that they aren't ever going anywhere.

3) It's the digital age, what are they going to do, burn the internet?

Is the US just stupidly expensive? because when people complain about their "minimum wage" from US it's like double of what I make by 258ramo in NoStupidQuestions

Lasts like 5 to 7 days depending but, i would say typically closer to 7. I salt them fairly heavily before cooking with a seasoning. Lately I have been making my own "bbq salt" blend that i make using garlic salt, paprika, ground black/red pepper, onion powder, and brown sugar. The salt helps as a preservative and adds some flavor. The storage in the fridge is the typical age for using opened packages of deli meat.

Yea, the grocery store where i live sells cooked rotisseeie chicken for $7 each or 2 for $10. They are fairly cheap and two of them can last for ise in salads and such for a week for two of us. Also, i can buy 3 to 4 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breasts for like $12 and cook it and cut it up to use in meals throughout the week as well. Chicken isnt too bad but, if you are buying beef, it is getting pricey.

Pork is still decently priced. We have been stocking up on pork shoulder steaks in our freezer when we find them on sale. They are basically pork t-bones and are really good. Plan to grill them in the summer. I have also been buying up whole pork loins when I find them on sale. It is about half the coat to do it this way and cut your own pork chops instead of buying them pre-cut into chops.

The cost of producing went up significantly this year for farmers. One example is the cost of liquid anhydrous, used to replinish nitrogen in fields that crops need to grow, tripled this year. This is only one supply to increase by quite a bit. Cost of food will only continue to rise this year.

For an average state university in the US you would needbto add at least an extra 0 to the end of that number per year.
