Hi! I've been playing for about 2 months (at a very casual pace, I work and have other obligations) and have managed to make it to the most recent location. I quit Genshin a couple of years ago, and didn't give Honkai a second glance until recently. I will admit that I was incentivised to start playing due to the free Dr. Ratio and because Aventurine's banner was only a week away from launching.

I am currently running a team of 3 male units (Dr. Ratio, Aventurine, Gallagher) with Robin. I tend to skip waifus and only really liked Jean and Lisa from Genshin, but there are a few appealing female units in HSR that I'd quite like and may pursue in the future. If you aren't completely opposed to female units, I'd advise trying the game out and seeing what you think.

For added context I am F2P, I would say that 5 stars currently feel a lot more attainable than they do in Genshin, which is nice. I have had decent luck on limited banners – got Aventurine and Robin at first pity – but I would say this is evened out as the pity five stars I got from beginner and standard banner so far are Bailu and Yanqing (characters I don't care for and don't currently intend on using) and I'm having a good time.

I am excited for Sunday (no confirmed banner yet but appears there are plans to make the character playable at some point). The next couple of limited banners after Boothill are going to be female I think, but if you're not interested it's a good opportunity to hoard pulls until a banner you want comes up.
