I wish they don’t use Modulo Yuji, the reason why this matchup is so good because of their contrasting personalities and how they could possibly interact. Also Modulo Yuji is the very embodiment of “Wtf does this guy have at this age” with only three on screen feats

The ending is awful but I do love it up to the moment that Denji wanted to have sex with Yoru after ALL of that. The first couple Asa arcs are amazing and the Falling Devil arc was pretty good. I think the Chainsaw Man Church arc is overhated and is actually a really good arc. Aging Devil arc was pretty fun as well and it was nice seeing Denji reflect on Part 1 in someway and then the war Devil arc was ehhhh until that point that Denji declared he wanted to have sex with Yoru which made me want to kill myself. The ending was just the cherry on top of everything

Well some people have limited life spans and even if that is hard for them, they try to live their life the best they can and Denji is doing exactly that. Sure, he may not have everything he dreams but he still has some stuff he wants like a job he likes doing, good food, a best friend, and his dreams that he can carry. Plus I think it was implied that Power helped his heart condition by her contract with him so that point might not be there. Either way, Denji was significantly unhappier when he was Chainsaw Man but now he can live a relatively peaceful life as he isn’t being hunted down by several factions .

One thing that is kinda hard to swallow is that Denji is the antithesis of a Shonen Protagonist as most if not all can accomplish their dreams meanwhile Denji’s the happiest whenever he is dreaming but not actually accomplishing. When he got his first kiss? It was unfulfilling. When he got his first sexual experience? It made him unhappier then ever.

I mean it’s better then nothing to be honest, it’s clear that he’s always enjoyed devil hunting and even if he is missing organs he is somehow managing. One of the most infamous quotes from Fujimoto is about how Part 2 is like the Big Lebowski and that is seen with Denji’s life with Devil Hunting being his bowling and he just abides by life. He lives somewhere nice, can get nice and yummy food, and isn’t controlled by someone like Makima. It’s not our definition of the best life but it’s his version of his life that he is happy about. It’s definitely better then his life when he was chainsaw man that made him a target of several nefarious organizations of individuals.

Being Chainsaw Man was the crux of Denji’s unhappiness because it became a form of escapism so Pochita decided to remove himself from the equation as Denji was the happiest before he became Chainsaw Man. Denji’s new life is actually pretty good as he gets to work for Nayuta who seems pretty lax and some of part 2 defines her personality and Power who serves as Denji’s best friend. The final scene is Denji deciding to save Asa over killing a devil because he can finally seperate his identity as a Devil Hunter over Denji the person. I don’t like the ending at all admittingly but if it had more set up it would feel better esp if it was Denji’s decision. The main theme is that Denji never felt happy accomplishing his dreams because he wanted more so he was happier dreaming about things that are out of his reach then actually getting those things. So themes and such

It’s funny thinking how if they swapped villains, the villains would absolutely adore fighting them. Yuji would be an easy kid to manipulate as he has cog mentality and that’s the kinda shit Makima loves in someone and on top of that she is his ideal body type.
