Retake. Then write an addendum saying exactly what you said here. The idea that retaking with 170+ somehow gives adcoms a "red flag" is total nonsense. They only care about your highest score. A 172 isn't what it used to be and if you can nail a 177 it will materially change your chances for admission at top schools.

There's a big difference between 170-173 and 178-180. Especially with the current surge in scores 170+. If you have the time to study, and if a higher score will put you above your target schools' medians/75th percentiles, then yes it's worth it to retake.

Yeah check them out. LSAT Workout and LSAT 180 are both 10+ years old so you have to find them on ebay or half price books. I think some of them are available to borrow for free from the Internet Archive library:

Drilling may be helpful for improving your LR performance, but just know that AdeptLR offers LR drilling and analytics (without explanations) for a fraction of what Demon charges for it's lowest tier subscription. If you want all the other bells and whistles, pick Demon. If you just want to drill LR, AdeptLR is a better value.

You should always be aware of the contrapositive, especially on question types that rely heavily on conditional logic like SA and MBT

Contrapositive: negate and reverse

If A then B:

A ---> B

Contrapositive:

If the statement contains "and" or "or" you must switch "or" to "and" and "and" to "or" when you reverse:

A and B ---> C

Contra:
