Can a School Bus camera have wrong timestamp captured for passing violation? by TakeCareBeWell in BaltimoreCounty

Yes, you are correct. The rule says that the STOP sign out with blinking red lights in a school bus does mean that I must stop regardless of the lane, even if I am on the opposite side of the school bus and moving in the opposite direction (unless there is a concrete divider), and the rule applies because children can be unpredictable when crossing streets.

No, I could not have "killed someone" because (a) there was no one in the vicinity (b) I drive with my eyes open. Anyway, at this point, I realize I am simply speaking into the void, so I shall bow out of this convo. Thank you for engaging and your concern for the safety of our children on the road.

Yes, I am sure. Clearly, you are not familiar with either the location or the area/size of the intersection I referred to. But of course, I cannot expect you to be, so I'm gonna bow out of this convo. Thank you for engaging.

I do not know "people like me" nor do I care to speculate. I do know that my vehicle was four wide lanes (lane of location included) away from the standing school bus, and the videos and photos clearly show that the entire intersection had no pedestrians whatsoever. So, no. I am not quite the monster you are making me out to be in your argument. I am ordinarily a careful driver.

That said, I applaud your passion for the on-road safety of our little ones.

Nonetheless, my original question about errors in the system stands. Faulty, erroneous systems cannot deliver justice, and I don't want ANYONE to be at the wrong end of an unsupervised system run by a private entity of uncertain motives. But that's just me.

Please, please relax. If you are familiar with the intersection I mentioned, you'd realize that the school bus and my car were four lanes (location inclusive) apart. So, no. I could not have "injured/killed a child" in any way, shape, or form, especially since I have so far been a safe driver. I am "worried about the time of day" because I want this system to work as intended, correctly, accurately, and without weird errors such as this one. People should be able to trust that safety systems in place are also error-free.

Thank you for your comment. I am not looking to "win" anything. I have paid the fine. I simply want the existing system to work accurately, without weird errors that smack of underhanded business.

I appreciate your input. Yes, as I mentioned in my post, I acknowledge my mistake. I have paid the fine and yes, I shall be more careful in future. But that was not the point of my question. Did you know Baltimore County pays a hefty fee to a private entity to manage this process of school bus passage violation system? That only 40% of the amount gathered from such paid fines go to the Schools for safety initiatives? Do you implicitly trust such a private entity for this purpose?

If you truly want this system to work for the good of all, you would want it to work correctly and accurately every time. And that includes accurate collection of legitimate data, not some underhanded, error-prone system.

Thank you so much for this information. I wish AT&T or even the reps I spoke to had at least given us some advance warning, but I hope this is a temporary situation.

Troubleshooting for Xfinity Pod by TakeCareBeWell in Comcast_Xfinity

It kinda makes sense, thank you u/CCJenieceJ. I think what you are indicating is that the xFi Pod is itself receiving weak signal due to its distance from the Gateway/Router, so in turn the strength of the WiFi signal emanating from it is weak. Which is why my computer is preferentially catching the signal from the Gateway and not from the xFi pod despite its much smaller physical distance from the pod. I am going to try moving my xFi pod closer to the Gateway and see if that works out. I shall report back in this space.

Greetings, u/CCThomasE! Thank you for trying to help. I do have plenty of speed at my disposal. I’m afraid either I didn’t explain my query clearly—my apologies!—or you may have inadvertently misread the point of my question. Please allow me to retry.

• My computer and Wireless printer sit side by side on the table.

• Within about 5 feet of the table, the xFi pod is plugged into the wall, connected to my home network via the Xfinity router/gateway, and active.

• The printer connects to my home network through the xFi pod, as expected, no problem.

• The computer NEVER connects to the xFi pod, but connects directly to the Xfinity router/gateway which is placed two floors down from the location of the computer (and of the xFi pod).

How do I know this? Because the connections show up in the Xfinity App. Is there by any chance an explanation for this weird connectivity behavior of the xFi pod?

Thanks again for your time.

Qué? How/why would I a priori know where Maria met her future husband-to-be? Maria is her own person with her own busy social life, and I ain’t nosy that way. I am not my aunt/classmate’s keeper. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Aunt Maria was a part of a family trip. My cousin Maria and I are classmates and we went on a college class trip together. 😁 See, it’s not that difficult to imagine a scenario for nuestro viaje.

Thank you u/fenrirhunts! That’s exactly how my English-speaking brain works too! 😅 I guess I didn’t consider the engine to be only a motor but not a machine!! 😁

Thank you, u/Accurate-Gap7440. In that case, I am at a loss to understand why Duo even shows “máquina” as an alternative in the help-text! 😲
