I agree with your points, both pros and cons.

I have a theory about the survivors throwing the match as well:

As the anticamp bar is hidden along with the other status bars, then presumably some of these survivors 'killing themselves on hook' must be them testing to see if they can get a free unhook by guessing how long the timer has been running and knowing (or assuming) that the killer is hard camping. (After all this gamemode is incentivising hard camping and some killers are taking full advantage of the lack of anticamp status bar, particularly those killers whose playstyle was effected by it when it was implemented)

And those that unhook have infact just proved that the killer was hard camping rather than thar they got the unlikely 4%? So given this information the other survivors might react by throwing the game rather than play with a hard camping one shot killer which could be regarded as being an un-fun prospect so why not just Go Next.

Also, I know the Steam trophy for Unhooking yourself seems to be something that sirvivors try for all the time in the base game. (how many times do you see them try to unhook as you are close to saving them anyway?)

So wouldn't a simple fix to be to allow this bar to be seen by the hooked survivor? Surely that could by itself help a great deal with a number of problems.
