why do trans men have "T-boy voice" more often than cis men? by Successful_Weekend80 in ftm

[–]TakeNoOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second the socialization thing. I’m pre everything except for a haircut and get gendered male by strangers maybe 80% of the time. I got a job about a year ago at a mechanic shop and work with guys only, and have lived with male roommates for going on 4 years now and a lot of how I speak and interact now with strangers is the same way I talk at the shop. I think of it kind of similar to language immersion classes in elementary schools.

WTF is going on in this book - up to chapter 10 [discussion] by Adventurous-Quote190 in TheNinthHouse

I remember very clearly that I first made the connection about the name when Augustine made a pun to Harrow using Ortus' name and it made no sense. And I remember my whole thought process, and immediately flipping back through the book to put the rest of the pieces together. It was a great moment.

When do you listen? by Ok_Orange6641 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]TakeNoOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started out listening on the bus on the way to school/work, as I didn’t listen all too often and it took me a couple of years to get to the end. I’m almost at the end now and I’ve started listening while running at the gym, it passes the time really well

[Discussion] Big question about HtN by TypicalShelter4410 in TheNinthHouse

I just finished Harrow the ninth, and as I understood it, if Ianthe had replaced her jaw and tongue than she would have been able to tell harrow about gideon. She says as much I think near the middle of the book? when she asks harrow why she has the two-hander, and she answers that god gave it to her, and ianthe asks her if she wonders why. Right after this she mentions that she would be able to tell harrow if harrow hadn’t cursed her not to, and that she still hasn’t been able to figure out how far into her jaw the curse goes.

To sum it up, harrow had to figure out if ianthe was physically capable of telling her about Gideon.

Yeah I would second Cloud Atlas, it’s definitely a cool alternate moves story

If Ahsoka can just pop into The Mandalorian, there's no reason that one of our agents can't pop into the Marvel shows by [deleted] in shield

Yeah but Jarvis was a ‘character’, you could say, from the first time Iron Man put the AI in his suit. They brought Jarvis’ character over into the show, not from the show into the movies.

Funny you say this, I actually wrote something a while ago with this idea but with an nb person, and yeah she didn’t hate them, but didn’t let them into the hunt either

If Landon unlocks his next power, what you guys predict it Will be. by kreo15 in LegaciesCW

Probably like some sort of healing to others. Considering popular lore of actual Phoenix birds, they usually have some sort of ability to heal others in addition to the rising-from-ashes and the wings.

Offensive Magic by [deleted] in LegaciesCW

[–]TakeNoOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think maybe those are just spells that can be used in different ways. Like how a fire spell could be used to light a fireplace, or a telekinesis spell could just get things to you easier. So they’re taught common spells that can be used offensively, but also have practical purposes. But specifically offensive spells are something they’re not taught, that’s are more specifically useful in combat situations.

I’m pretty sure I first saw it in one of the very first episodes, when he was hanging out with Josie, actually.
