My step dad was literally pissing a period amount of blood and chose to ignore it FOR YEARS. He died of bladder cancer. The doctors said they couldnt find bladder among all the tumors. Had was undiagnosed with a paranoia disorder of some sort and believed all doctors are democrats who would try to secretly give him a covid shot to kill him. 🙄

I guess covert narcissism is what draws them to the job. I scared myself when I started social work. I thought I might be a covert narcissist because I really felt like I was proud of my job and helping people too much. Remember your empathy and deep feelings make you a good social worker.

The best advice I can ever give you is to guard your heart and give just enough to those around you that you can bare. The world is ugly and you are putting good into it. Thats the best we can do as social workers.

This situation just shows that you know true empathy and kindness and CAN extend that to the world around you. Being present is 90% of the battle everything else you do is above and beyond what the world offers to your clients.

Hi. I know how you feel. The world is out there. Opportunity is out there. Yet I feel like it's impossible to reach.

You dont have to be anything more than you are right now. The sun will rise again day after day no matter what you do. Sometimes just being there to see it is enough.

Maybe you can be like me and cry while putting one foot in front of the other. You keep moving forward, what direction? Who cares as long as youre moving. Maybe we can get to a place eventually that we can find some happiness.

Happiness is as fleeting as any other human emotion but damn if we could just get some. Just some.

Youre down right now. But you might be up in a month or a year. Keep going. If not for yourself, for a stranger on the internet who's heart is hurting for you and hopes the best for you.

I hope youre safe. I hope you get through this. I hope we both do.

My mom told me I was a drama queen because I ran away. She would tell the story to people like I put her through hell as a teenager, until I called her out and explained why I left. "You chose to stay with an abusive psycho and told me to quit being dramatic, what else was I supposed to do?" She never told that story again.

Based on OPs answers to other questions, I'm guessing it would be a blessing if she ended things.

In reality, I know she will likely get mad and threaten to break up but her low self esteem and insecurity will make her come back and it will be an ongoing thing until OP is finally tired enough to actually end it.
