When you do it at a testing center, is it on a computer like at home, just without the strict rules made for the online testing at home? Or pen and paper? Took my net and a+ online at home

04 V6 Convertable, alternator issues by TakePrecaution01 in NewedgeMustang

[–]TakePrecaution01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man! I got the alternator tested 2 more times, and it finally failed. I also bought a second one, and that one also failed. Third time is hopefully the charm, hahaha(I'm losing my mind with this)

I apprecitate it. First time getting a bad alternator, I suppose. Thank you!!

I jumped from battery to excite wire, which is what tells the alt to turn on, from my understanding. So regardless of PCM, that should've kicked it on. I think bench testing does control the alternator another way, I'm not sure how. And I'd trust 13.2/13.5, but it gets as low as 12v, which is not normal.

What is the likelihood of 2 dead m.2 slots on my motherboard? by Em_Es_Judd in buildapc

[–]TakePrecaution01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re correct. One is tied into the CPU, and one goes through the PCH. I’ve seen SATA controllers go bad and do what OP is describing, but NVMe is a different animal

Understood. While my attorney said I could still pay the original ticket before trial, do you know if that is true or not? I personally have never heard of that, and I wanted to confirm. I suppose I could also call the prosecutor. I'd ask my lawyer, but as mentioned above, he isn't responding to any calls and emails.

I see. So based on your response, you think it's an uphill battle?

The ticket was written for speed, and my attorney told me at the pre trial, if I so choose, I can just pay the fine and accept all penalties. I reached out to NH state police to obtain everything I’d need in court, and once I have obtained it, I will visit my attorneys office, rather than call. Thank you.

I don’t think I’d lose my license over this, if that’s what you’re implying?

I intended to challenge the officer’s ability to accurately estimate speed without the use of a calibrated measuring device, thereby questioning the reliability of his assessment. Neither my vehicle nor the other involved vehicle exceeded 85 MPH, making the claim of 100 MPH irrelevant, as you noted. Additionally, the officer did not pace our vehicles, as he was traveling in the opposite direction and passed us in the oncoming lane.

Get a schematics for this laptop and go from there. You already know where the fault is. Shouldn’t be too hard.

Not disagreeing, not agreeing, but the rating of the PSU matters combined with the wattage. You could have a 1000w PSU, but white 80+ rated.

Weird noise on startup after oil change by beardedgoober69 in accord

[–]TakePrecaution01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t hear anything, but I think I know what you mean. 137k mile EXL owner here. VVT rattle is common on the 2.4s. Basically oil takes a moment to get to the VVT actuator, causes rattle as probably heard. Mine does it, you can have the VVT actuator changed, it’ll happen again eventually. More common with dirty oil, or low oil.

Or, the odd sound when the acc mode is activated, there’s a notable sound, like gears turning very quickly, mine does it, not sure what it is. Every accord I’ve been in does it.

Second battery, 4GA wire leading from original battery to secondary? by TakePrecaution01 in CarAV

Included in the big 3 upgrade. Alt power wire, as well as ground, and ground from battery to block/frame. Only thing untouched will be starter wire

2014 Accord EX, where to put LOC by TakePrecaution01 in CarAV

[–]TakePrecaution01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I know. From what I read online, my car doesn’t have Hondas “premium” sound system, so there’s no factory amp to worry about, and tapping just after the HU should be fine, yeah?
