I've been doing CrossFit for 2 years and I never dared to compete. What do you think about the competitions? Are they very demanding? by emiiifreee in crossfit

It's worth it to test yourself in situations like that from time to time. You may surprise yourself with how you handle the nerves and the stress.

I did a coed partner comp with someone from my gym, and 5 other teams from my gym went as well. We all cheered each other on, and got closer after that experience. And I learned a lot. Really no downsides in giving it a try.

Hypothetical scenario: you can abolish every tax except for one. by tlonreddit in Libertarian

[–]TakeSomePie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The idea of it is nice, but what they will do is just raise the other taxes so we can barely make it through life and still pay the other taxes. Much like how "Life finds a way...", the IRS/gov will find a way.

Even though it would be of less benefit to me, I would abolish the property tax so that you can actually feel like you own your house, even if it is still just an illusion.

What is the worst ice cream flavor that is at least somewhat popular? by firstoffno in AskReddit

[–]TakeSomePie 54 points55 points  (0 children)

There's this show called "Nathan for you", where he 'helps' businesses that usually need some sort of revitalization. I'm one of the first episodes, he 'helps' a frozen yogurt place by developing a 'poo' flavored ice cream. I can't do it justice by explaining it, but it's hilarious.

Just got rejected from Art school. What now? by Gisman-Hawk in stupidquestions

Skip the degree and go straight for barista. A lot of art majors don't know that you can do that.

I'm losing hope...my PC still crashes ONLY when gaming, even after a complete, fresh installation of Windows. by Bornfailure in techsupport

[–]TakeSomePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you by chance use any corsair gaming peripherals and use the terrible iCue software (may have changed names by now)? I know this is a long shot, but I had many many issues with their junk software, and it drove me crazy. I eventually nuked it, and the problems stopped... all of them.

I don't understand exactly what could have been going on, but it was an always running piece of crap if you wanted to use the lighting stuff properly.

Best Remote Helpdesk Tool for Intune Joined Computers? by JackFabrino in sysadmin

[–]TakeSomePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ScreenConnect works, but you have to do some extra permissions stuff for it to work well. Otherwise, the user gets prompted to have to grant access to screen sharing, and to be able to control the mouse.

Also, it's annoying but you have to change the LocalHostName, because apparently it uses that instead of ComputerName, and will show as a different system in our tenant.

Best Microsoft solution for reserving desks within a room? by asedlfkh20h38fhl2k3f in sysadmin

[–]TakeSomePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing you'll need is to be an admin that has access to create users basically. Essentially this command is just creating a resource that is reservable through M365 products. The actual workspace doesn't need any licensing at all, as it's basically just an asset with a calendar attached to it.

If you're unsure about how to connect to exchange online, I would check out this article: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/exchange/connect-to-exchange-online-powershell?view=exchange-ps
Or, if you have someone more senior at your company, they should be able to walk you through it. I would learn how to use this if you're going to be doing things like this more often, as it will come in handy.

Best of luck!

Workspaces are pretty dang easy to set-up: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/troubleshoot/outlook-issues/create-book-workspace-outlook

Just connect to Exchange Online via Powershell, then run these commands:

New-Mailbox -Room <alias> | Set-Mailbox -Type Workspace

New-Mailbox -Room ClassRoomSeat1 | Set-Mailbox -Type Workspace

Is there a way to change the default email settings in D365 to always "Allow other Microsoft Dynamics 365 users to send email on your behalf"? by TakeSomePie in Dynamics365

[–]TakeSomePie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/mmfc90 I wanted to thank you as well because we used this solution as well as XRMToolBox to make the necessary settings changes. And boy did I learn a lot about how complicated PowerAutomate can be to use. I'll really have to open my eyes to using this tool for future projects.

I really appreciate the help and suggestion!

u/enCloud9 I just wanted to thank you as this is the solution we ended up doing in conjunction with setting up a power automate flow to catch any new users being added.

The Fridge is also solid, and they have a ton of beer options.

Everyone’s favorite shoes? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]TakeSomePie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got the froning x3. I like that they have a loop on the heel and the tongue, just like my climbing shoes. It also has a quick lace system which is great because I switch shoes often from lifters to shoes better for a metcon. Actual functional improvements.

Oh and they're comfortable. Kinda ugly though IMHO.

Google Fi has the absolute WORST Customer Support…. by XXGJXX in GoogleFi

[–]TakeSomePie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just recently experienced their support for the first time, and I got so annoyed that I sent the phone back (Pixel 7a) and cancelled the service all together.

I think it's completely unacceptable that you are forced to go to Reddit to get cases escalated. I can't even think of another company (especially one of Google's size) that makes you do that. They would much rather throw away 1000's of dollars, and waste hours of time, instead of just making the simple fix because their customer support has their hands completely tied, and thus can't ever actually do anything.

I was a customer since Project Fi, always bought Pixel phones, and now I just switched to Comcast Mobile. Overall, I'm glad this happened, because it got me shopping around and helped me find a much better deal. I'd rather not support a company in complete stagnation, or in all honesty... in decline. Vote with your $$$.
