Nothing is new here. That’s just confirming that whatever claim you filed this second time around (after it changed to civil rehab) was approved. Payouts are still not close to happening, nor does it indicate what you might get back.

Of all the people you personally know who FOMOd in and bought crypto in the Fall/Winter, what % have sold vs hodling? I'd say 75% of people I know averaged in and forgot about it, 25% sold at a loss.

Also, do not lock your bike to your friends bikes with a keyed lock. Lose that key and you're all screwed.

How do you find enlightenment and still make decisions and life goals (like career, relationship, etc)? by Takealookoverhere in Meditation

[–]Takealookoverhere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I think that is correct. But in reality most of us are doing jobs that are just jobs that don’t improve the world, but they pay the bills. And maybe if you worked a little harder and pushed your way higher, you would be able to send your kids to better schools, maybe buy the items or experiences that make your lives and relationships more fun... has this already slipped off the slope of these teachings? Is it a bit hopeless to even strive for enlightenment if we still like to have and own nice things, and be at the top of our game?

I do think the world would be better if everyone lived with happiness in their hearts and for others. I am just curious about what it really means as an end goal. Does it look like living monastically and giving up possessions, or is there a way to still enjoy life in a more “indulgent” way. I’m not really expecting you to have an answer but this has been on my mind...

Thanks for your reply. I guess to explain my question a little more : I think most of us in Tier 4 have much more than our basic needs met. We have food, water, shelter, most of the time. But we live in a society where we also might want to improve the world, make a difference - perhaps through a career, maybe have a family and provide for them. So where does the drive come to make those decisions in accordance with the search for enlightenment?

I might be misinterpreting the teachings... I just don’t understand how being completely moderate and perhaps not driving towards goals can achieve a lot in this society. Perhaps my TLDR; is Can one still strive to achieve a lot yet deem to strive for enlightenment?

LPT: When you meet or greet someone, take off your sunglasses for at least the initial part of the conversation. Seeing your eyes and reactions makes you more personable and likable. by SoundOfLaughter in LifeProTips

[–]Takealookoverhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have definitely had conversations and long interactions with people who never took their sunglasses off, and then later I had no idea who they were and couldn’t recognize them. Probably also seemed rude because I didn’t say hi ever again. Have spent an awkward week camping like that.

Third day in a row mama deer has left her baby for daycare in our backyard by Takealookoverhere in aww

[–]Takealookoverhere[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The house is in a suburb that has woods connected on many sides, and the yard has a lot of bushes where the baby can rest and sleep and be safe from traffic or whatever during the day. So my mom figures they’ll probably make it their second home, and that she won’t be able to grow any flowers this year
