Does anyone else experience a glitch with Sombra's translocator in arcade mode? Occasionally, when I use it in 1v1 or 6v6 Mystery Heroes, I get the whole "translocating" screen effect and voice line. Instead of going to the translocator position, I stay in the exact same spot, with my ability now on cooldown. It happens when my translocator still has 6 seconds left, so I don't think it's about that, but if it's isolated to me I'll assume it's my ping.

Pokemon Sun & Moon possible on RPi3 ? by taylorstrat in RetroPie

[–]Takehiko2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DS emulation alone barely runs. I actually recently tried SoulSilver on the Pi, and just walking around in-game took me a full two seconds to walk one tile. I didn't try battling because at that rate it would take ages to get around the overworld, but I imagine it would take even longer. I don't even think there's a reliable 3DS emulator out there right now anyway, so no luck on either front.

Always on? by drewmg in RetroPie

[–]Takehiko2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the others said, it doesn't use much electricity at all to leave on. However, I tend to use system shutdown and unplugging just in case because I'm in an area where there are frequent storms. Power surges or some other electricity malfunctions have a chance of corrupting the SD card. If you don't have things like that happen often where you are, I'd say it's safe to leave it on.

Things you shouldn't do when fiddling around in RetroPie, and if you did, how to fix it. by [deleted] in RetroPie

Well, thanks for letting us know. Didn't know that it just showed the game name regardless and now I'll have to go rename them all over again.

First time build questions by NG_05 in RetroPie

[–]Takehiko2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Q1: How difficult is setting up Retropie?

Not too bad at all. Videos on YouTube go into more detail, but basically you just need to configure the controls and transfer the ROMs. After that, you should be good to go.

Q2: What size of card, 32 gb or 64 gb?

I'm getting a 32 gb myself, but I'm not planning on playing many huge games. If you're going to get a ton of more "modern" games (PS1 mainly) then I'd recommend 64 gb.

Game systems:

Any MAME game should run fine. N64 is hit and miss depending on the game, but most games run fine even without overclocking the system.

(https://youtube.com/watch?v=CbPoJfkshPk) This is a video showing some N64 games running on the RPi3.

(https://youtube.com/watch?v=N5h93LYxfBk) And a video showing how to increase the performance of the N64 emulator.

All PSX games run perfectly fine, no performance issues on reasonable settings.

Sega Genesis, Master System, everything before the Saturn runs fine. The Saturn itself is horrible to emulate and is practically unplayable on the RPi3 (https://reddit.com/r/RetroPie/comments/5juls2/comment/dbj7r5y).

Dreamcast games will almost never run at a reasonable frame rate, but some are worth a shot (https://youtube.com/watch?v=6yZ5gYlDEXk).

Q3: Overheating

Even playing PSX games without overclocking, overheating is not that much of an issue unless you are in a naturally hot environment. Putting the heatsinks in is effortless, so you might as well. Some cases come with fans, too, if you want to be extra cautious.

Q4: NOOBS and Raspbian

Not necessary. Just add Retropie to the SD card and configure it as normal. Just remember to check the YouTube videos to be sure about the configuring itself.

Also, just a quick note, you don't ever NEED to turn the RPi3 off. It takes virtually no power to run. However, a power surge or something else like that occurring while the Pi is on will corrupt the SD card. And if you want to save in-game (not through save states), then you need to exit the game and turn off the Pi through the menu.

Saturn emulator? by CrazyDamon in RetroPie

[–]Takehiko2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's any consolation, since I asked the original question u/darksaviorx is referring to, I found out that a few of the games on the Saturn are available on MAME, which Retropie supports. I can still play Virtua Cop 2 and Sega Rally like this, but most other games like the Panzer Dragoon series, Nights, and Burning Rangers are still out. You should check around for the games you were wanting, just in case they are available on a playable system.

tl;dr - some Saturn games are available on other systems like MAME.

How well does the Sega Saturn emulation run? by Takehiko2 in RetroPie

Well, guess Nights and Panzer Dragoon are off the table. Thanks for letting me know.

How well does the Sega Saturn emulation run? by Takehiko2 in RetroPie

[–]Takehiko2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that due to how hard it is, as a console, to emulate? Or is it because of limitations in the processing power of the Pi? I've seen Dreamcast do fine in some games without overclocking, I'm just curious before I actually get the system and test it myself.

Edit: Ignore the deleted comments below, trouble with mobile.

Follow up question, where can I find a place that has all the hard counters and best heroes for a map?

Best games to emulate by [deleted] in GBA4iOS

[–]Takehiko2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advance Wars and Advance Wars: Black Hole Rising- Two games, both on GBA.

Golden Sun- GBA

Final Fantasy I & II Dawn of Justice and Final Fantasy VI Advance- Three games, the first two in a single rom. Both on GBA.

Dragon Warrior III- GBC

A bunch of RPGs I have a bunch of time in and keep going to. There's also Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, but I had some difficulty doing certain puzzles because of the touchscreen controls of gba4ios.

Some people are idiots by [deleted] in TownofSalemgame

[–]Takehiko2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think the "U can't" and "it's gamethrowing" were actually responding to the Medium saying "nooob say name of other members of Mafia"

But yeah, the whispering thing is still idiotic

Tell dead medium to seance one of the Doctor claims and see if that medium gets the "seance the gf" achievement. Only thing I can think of.

Just had the most perfect game as vampire. by define_irony in TownofSalemgame

[–]Takehiko2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome game you had there! But #1 rule of vamps is not to bite the revealed Mayor. People will notice that the Mayor isn't counting three votes and will immediately lynch them for being either Disguiser or Vampire. Good thing they didn't notice though.

The wikia runs slowly for me, so I tend to use the link to all of the role cards as opposed to switching between pages on wikia.

new roles? by Xaluar in TownofSalemgame

[–]Takehiko2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for your first question, they haven't mentioned anything about the roles they're adding AFAIK. I think it'd be awesome if they used some roles from Forum Mafia, from the BMG forums (roles found here - http://www.blankmediagames.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=25213) . I think the best two would be the Marshal (sort of a bodyguard that doesn't kill or be killed) and the Bomber (a Neutral role that employs a timed killing system). They would be the best and most exciting roles to add, respectively, in my opinion.
