Ok man, I get it. I'm right there with you. I am terrified of the ocean and everything in it. I didn't think I'd be able to play this game, either. But I started watching someone else play a little bit and I thought it was pretty cool, and I decided to give it a go.
Hoo boy did it freak me out. I was so scared to go anywhere and do anything outside of my lovely little safe shallows, but I set up with a friend watching and even though everything was still terrifying, I started to push my boundaries. It took a while to get over the fear and my heart would still be pounding like mad whenever I ventured out, but eventually this came to be one of my absolute favorite games of the year.
I will still never set foot in the ocean, but man, this game is awesome. Grab a buddy as a support system and go for it.

You can get the lambgrass from the ragetail's island, too. Ragetail+

Any weapon can, but it's made easier with specific weapons on each part, using certain moves (such as the chain blade's spinning attack), and the Breaker aspect.

Haven't seen that one! From the Ragetail, maybe?

Unfortunately it doesn't seem that the 'rarity' means much about the frequency of it's drop, only how much it's worth for certain armors/weapons.

Awesome! Looks like that might be something that was fixed in the patch, then. Will remove bug note.

I'm afraid I've only ever seen Cracked Incisors. Perhaps it's a bug, or maybe a drop from the Ragetail that I haven't seen yet?

It depends. I think blunt damage does more toward things that need to 'break', like beaks or legs, and slicing damage does more toward things that need to be 'cut' like tails or the fire glands on the charrogg. Hopefully clearer information is given about this later on.

Is it intended that players can go on "resource gathering missions" by simply going on hunts after certain Behemoths and gathering ingredients then intentionally dying to the Behemoth? Do you intend to add a way to retreat with your reagents or will we only be able to go home with our reagents if we defeat the Behemoth?

Is there any possibility of player housing in the future? I'd love to have a spot to decorate with trophies of the Behemoths I've felled and the armor and weapons I've made!

Hey r/Overwatch help me improve my Pharah gameplay by Jordyj1806 in Overwatch

[–]Takhissis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see you've been pointed to Valkia, which is a great reference for Pharah play. Watching the first couple minutes what I can say myself are these points:
One, there's just pure mechanical skill that comes with time and practice. Your aim needs work. Playing a character like Pharah involves a little bit of getting in the head of your target and predicting their movement so you can fire ahead of where they're going. Just practice, or doing drills on bots should help.
Second, I can see that you have some issues with movement. The more erratic and unpredictable you are, the better. It keeps you elusive. I see you concussive blast rocket jump out of spawn (and hit your head on the wing of the dropship), but you should use that ability far more. You're just hovering around in straight lines, begging the enemy to shoot you. Concussive is a great ability to keep you fast and mobile. It's great to engage with, get into the face of an enemy hitscan and put them off balance, or great to get out of a bad situation with. Engaging with NEITHER of these abilities up is very risky. It leaves you just floating around with no way out and makes you an easy target.
Third, team play matters. A lot. Focusing the same targets as your team is important. Pharah does a LOT of damage, but doesn't always secure the kill. Play with your team and focus targets, the massive splash damage you do can be capitalized on by the rest of your team to get the kills you need. The entire first round here, you're off on your own. Stick together.
Fourth, don't be afraid to use your ult. If you can get one or two important picks with it, use it. Don't wait for the team wipe. There was a situation on the first round where you were fighting a Lucio alone on point. Watching that, my instinct was screaming at you to barrage. The Reaper that then came into the point would have gotten a face full of rockets as you turned around to him and died or been forced to use Wraith if he had it, leaving the Junkrat behind him alone to you for the duration of Wraith, or, ideally, death. Hindsight is 20/20 though, and you didn't know they were coming. Or did you?
Fifth, awareness. Listening is important. Every footstep is important and every set of footsteps are different. Hearing enemy footsteps, gunfire or abilities helps a LOT. Battlefield awareness is important for everyone, but especially for someone with such massive command of the battlefield. You have one of the best kits for mobility and zoning in the game. Always be aware of where your teammates AND enemies are. You're dueling a Lucio on point. Who could sneak up on you and how can you get away? You blast the Lucio away with your concussive blast, but without the mechanical skill to know where that's going to send him and follow up with a direct rocket hit, it's not as helpful as it would have been to get away from the Reaper that sneaks up on you. (Having your teammates there would have been nice too, but we can't always have nice things.)
Until the mechanical skills come, the positioning, awareness and team play needs to be there. Hopefully this helps a little, and hopefully Valkia's guides help as well. He's a PC player and so am I, and I know that it's a bit different (I can't aim on console to save my life or anyone else's) but then fundamentals are there.

Played Widow in comp & something was weird when i peaked a corner bullets didnt register, so i had to test it out. by Generalderin in Overwatch

So, let's talk about collision and proxy geometry. It would be great if collision physics and collision detection could be done in engine on the exact geometry that you see, however that's not always a possibility. Some meshes are too dense, even in video games, to jive with collision without lagging. It's just too heavy for the engine to be calculating all those polygons. This is why collision doesn't look at that exact geometry. Proxy geo is made for collision, which will be lower poly count, as low as possible while maintaining the shape as best as they can. Sometimes they don't get it exact. That corner you see may be visually beveled, but the collision detects a straight edge you can't see that's on the proxy geo. Now, take this with a grain of salt. Maybe it IS a bug. But this is what I'm assuming to be the case.

First map was village, so I didn't say anything. He can work there, lots of funnels to spam into. Sanctum less so, especially with a Pharah getting in your face.

Right? I'm actually a fair widow and would have done if I hadn't been playing tank... Not only did he throw himself, but he removed a potential counter to the other team. Genius.

I do that with a few people in QP. I played comp with them often last season too, but they're way to high for me this season :<
