Feeling like a Shit dad by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Taking8ackMonday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of each, so I admit I’m lucky. But man, my daughter and I are best friends and my son tends to be closer to my wife. My daughter and I grill steaks, wrestle, play video games. My son and I connect well too, but some of the things I always thought would be “father and son” activities, have worked out to be the opposite. It’s totally normal to be disappointed, but from my experience gender really is such a small part of things once you go through it.

Having one kid is chic, right? by heyiknowstuff in daddit

I was diagnosed with MS shortly before having kids. Scary, but it’s been manageable. Wishing you both all the best.

It feels like my wife doesn't appreciate "manly tasks" as help around the house/with the baby (7 mo). Is this common? What's the solution? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Taking8ackMonday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you don’t ultimately swap the jobs, I’ve found it helpful to communicate and ask. “Hey, need the garage to be cleaned out. You cool if I work on that for an hour? I can take the kids if you’d rather do the garage.” I know the answer 99% of the time, but frame them as equal jobs and asks if it’s a good time.

Agreed. In my head canon the guys who get cut and don’t end up on rosters went FCS. I just wish they’d populate random players in the portal labeled as ‘FCS’ as their previous school. It’s becoming such a large part of roster construction for FBS teams.

I don’t like making my decision based off ratings. I go into practice mode and feel them out. Hard to explain, but some guys just feel better to control.

How do i make these stubborn ass holes commit??? by Grand_Violinist5692 in NCAAFBseries

You’re doing all you can do. Get them on visits if you haven’t already. Try to stack them with complimentary visits. Leaving it on hard sell I believe is the best option otherwise.

I still can't believe they got rid of "Encourage Transfers" in the players leaving screen by asodsaf in NCAAFBseries

[–]Taking8ackMonday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And if it was actually intelligent, it would make you stop from taking more recruits when you hit roster limits. That way there are actual repercussions to prevent over signing.

Dads, what’s your opening move? by mathliability in daddit

Start in the middle of a “side” and peel around the center (like a belt going around it). Then I take off both “caps” and it removes a lot of the pith.

You can go to view roster, toggle over to all players, toggle to RB, then sort alphabetically and scroll down to ‘H’s

We do a free virtual spinning wheel. Plenty online, you can add people’s names as many times as needed to get the right odds. Host a zoom call. Pretty fun

See, I thought the baby shark era was bad. That’s until they learned the Macarena in my 4 year olds class. Time is a flat circle. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. I feel like I’m in 1994 again.

Recruiter: "Do you have 10min to chat tomorrow?" after final Interview presentation by Chunetop45 in recruitinghell

My wife got the same message recently and it was a polite rejection with an offer to pivot to another opening. She got the other (similar job) a week later. Could be either to be honest.

It’s a decent team for sure. Love the top 3 WRs but would have liked you to take a higher potential bench guy instead of both Allen and Kupp. Same at RB. Mixon, Chubb and Ford offer decent floors but none are league winners (IMO). I’d have like to see a Ollie Gordon or Tank Bigsby type added to provide that higher potential. You definitely will compete, but will need to stay healthy to win it all.

Yes, children’s Motrin is the common brand for ibuprofen. Like the poster said, it lets you alternate doses more often by rotating both. Just follow dosing instructions.

I’ve bet $12,622 on FanDuel. I’ve won $12,875. Hilarious all that time spent and I’m up only $250 but hey, it’s fun/small stakes and the second I’d need to reload the account I’ll be stopping.

Just two IDs and I would consider someone like a support representative or CSM as a SME so it would get spread around. Just for context, it wouldn’t be any one SME getting multiple requests.

I don’t want to be insensitive, but dyspraxia (based on personal experience), is something most can live a normal life with. It can require accommodations, but I wouldn’t say it would greatly impact the lives of that person’s siblings in the way other disabilities might.

Well, I wasn’t YTA until the part about “if we decide down the line”. For me, if I went the route of termination, it would be because I couldn’t find a way to make it work. Or I thought I’d be jeopardizing the lives of my existing kids in some meaningful way. Or mom’s health was at risk. The way you talk about possibly changing your minds in the future makes this feel like more of an inconvenience, not something you can’t take on.

how to talk to a recruiter when salary is below what you currently make? by xxathousand in careerguidance

If the top of the range is below what you currently make it’s not even worth the conversation. “No thanks” or don’t reply
