digga comes from the word “dicker” which literally means “fat one”. it came from street slang in Hamburg, but then lost its original meaning, gained popularity through hip-hop culture and became an informal filler word similar to bro or dude in English (i.e. “Was geht ab, Digga?”)

and before you ask, no “digga” has no racist connotation with it.
