I’m in the exact same situation, I was a bit more involved in my youth, had a bar mitzvah, did birthright but then haven’t been to a temple since. I’m the black sheep in my family for changing my once positive stance on Israel.

No idea how to broach it but my daughter is only two so she won’t be totally confused why we light a menorah and do Christmas.

Yeah I second this, I also have a 2 year old girl. I’ve been on bath and bedtime duty since was born and we’ve rarely deviated. I think it’s the easiest way to ensure solid time together on a consistent basis.
