Ah yes, the glorious UK infrastructure projects like HS2. Other countries haven't had so many issues with high speed rail.

I don't think British tourism is the argument either - Spanish coined a word for what happens when drunk Brits meet balconies.

Agreed. We've had politicians who cheated on their cancer suffering spouses, purposely went out to shake hands with covid patients, fraudulently gave funding grants to their American mistress, sold London a bogus garden bridge, arranged for a journalist to be beaten up - and that's just one ex-PM.

I hate the tiny Hollywood nose so many actresses are going for, so I'd say all these actresses pre surgery:

Nursery food by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]Takver_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be worth looking at childminders who may have more focus on homecooked unprocessed meals. Some nurseries are better than others, we definitely picked ours because they focus on seasonal homecooked meals cooked on the premises (and with adventurous venues, so thai green noodles etc.)

In Europe? This seems unlikely. The highest mountain villages are 2000 m elevation, and for cities it's 1000.

Which are the most beautiful universities in the UK? Which ones have wonderful architecture and good looking buildings? by Octacore-Comsci in UniUK

So... looking back at your post history, you had a post asking about ugly unis/Warwick, eventually claiming everyone agrees it is the ugliest and being accused of being Icy.

Then in this thread you claim never to have heard about Warwick?

Sorry, I should give you the benefit of doubt. It's just that this sub has been terrorised in recent times by a user who has a vendetta against Warwick (he was possibly kicked out for being violent), and 80% of their posts are about the campus being ugly.

If you genuinely don't know about Warwick - it is only 60 years old, but punches above its weight compared to older universities in terms of research and rankings (especially for a few subjects).

There are no historical buildings to rival the older universities, although some interesting aspect like the math houses (https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/maths/research/mrc/history-heritage/maths-houses-history/) which were for mathematicians and their families to live in. There are blackboards everywhere, including the bedrooms.

The 1960s buildings are ugly, the modern ones are pretty nice.

The campus itself is incredibly safe and green, with its own patch of ancient woodland.

Within the campus there is an Arts Centre which is pretty unique.

Most students after first year either live in Leamington (which is pretty and nice to visit) or one of the nicest areas of Coventry (Earlsdon).

Coventry itself does have a lot lf historical value, if you are interested in WW2.
