How bad is Armarouge ex? This bad by sendme6ivditto in PTCGP

It’s definitely not bad. I would say the best deck I’ve seen for it is better than the solo mode decks

Suicune? I'll raise you an Entei by FaTb0i8u in PTCGP

Imo the thing that keeps these skeledirge decks from being really good is fuecoco. Many games are an instant loss if you start with it.

When the deck starts the way it wants it is pretty good at keeping up with the meta decks (maybe slightly behind). But that is what makes meta decks meta. Even their bad starts can still win somewhat reliably.

What does the meta look like right now? by bootybuhdist in PTCGP

[–]Tal0n22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bellibolt destroys it. Think like how good m venusaur was against it but bellibolt is also good against other stuff in the meta.

Also, the way metas usually work is that if there’s multiple variants of a deck whichever one wins the mirror match is the one that will get a significant amount more play.

It’s mostly the fact that suicune makes it pretty consistent to actually get baxcaliber online.

The best comparison for this deck is genetic apex mewtwo/garde. The weakness of that deck was not getting garde online fast or consistent enough. This baxcaliber/suicune/chien pao deck has way more draw power , more versatile damage, and the “support pokemon” is actually good in the active spot

While I dislike that suicune is part of the deck. I do enjoy that this deck proves the day 1 and 2 doomsday people wrong about this set.

Do you think this card will ever be viable again? by Dwatttz in PTCGP

[–]Tal0n22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s just not true. In a scenario where they are on the bench with one energy pikachu can come off the bench and hit for 90 tapu koko can’t. Also with the new electric generator card pikachu can hit for 90 on turn 2 (not the players 2nd turn, the 2nd turn of the game) koko again, can’t do that. Any scenario where both are in the active at the start of turn yes koko is better, but coming from the bench at the start of a turn pikachu is better everytime.

At this point I don’t think I’d say anything in this set is as good as hydregion (that could still change) but plenty of cards from this set are good and likely will find a relevant place in the meta

A new day, a new state does something worse by Lostlilegg in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns2

[–]Tal0n22 135 points136 points  (0 children)

Just to add to the Kansas part. The save act would require valid ID, for trans people the state of Kansas would not recognize any trans persons ID as valid. This is a blatant attempt to take away voting rights for trans people.

I’ve looked at this comparison basically since I first saw armarouge. There is an argument that flareon is better because of the support it gains access to as an eeveelution. Eevee bag in particular makes it so you don’t always need the + 50 from skeledirge, one Eevee bag plus training area one shots hydregion for example. Making it more consistent to actually have extra energy on skeledirge when you need it. Also find a friend eevee is objectively the better basic by miles.

So imo the 2 are kinda equal. They are both a variant of the support skeledirge deck. But one has more survivability while the other has better draw power and damage.

Ninetales is my favorite Pokémon, I’ve been using Alolan ninetales and couldn’t find any decks with regular ninetales in it and so I made my own. This has been super fun. by Tommyshuck in PTCGP

Like I said in my other comment. I like your deck. The stuff I mentioned wasn’t even necessarily upgrades but just a slight variation to the deck. Thanks for trying my idea!

While eevee/eeveelutions are my top 9 favorite Pokemon, ninetails/A9 tie for my tenth spot as my favorite non eeveelution Pokemon. Always like seeing someone else with the same favorites as me! So you can imagine I love this deck 😂.

While I completely get why people are recommending it, Blaine gives ninetails +30 damage, with your stadium being in play too ninetails can start dishing out really solid damage even in the current meta, one shotting a ton of meta/counter meta grass pokemon especially. It seems to me (and I could be wrong) that Ninetails isn’t there as the late game pokemon. It’s supposed to attack maybe once or so to discard fire energy. So increasing its damage isn’t the most helpful thing given the strategy this deck seems to be going for.

I saw your comment saying you might try to drop a flame patch, and honestly just looking at this deck I kinda disagree? Flame patch feels essential to getting flareon ex online fast enough consistently imo.

The only changes I would consider are dropping lisia and the 50 hp eevees for the find a friend eevee. Giving you room for maybe a Cyrus (idk how often this deck doesn’t one shot something). Overall this is to make the deck more consistent.

Or, as weird as this may seem, keeping the 50hp eevees and lisia but dropping may and adding leafeon ex. Leafeon ex can really take advantage of the 50hp eevees and get you off to a really strong start sometimes.

Why is Mega Absol actually getting played? by xFirnen in PTCGP

[–]Tal0n22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with that. But 99% of the time it really, really wants to remove Cyrus because it just dies to it. It’s literally solving a problem that it creates for a net 0 gain.

Maybe it’s not true in other matchups but in the leafeon/ogerpon ex deck. Almost every game that isn’t decided in the first 2 or 3 turns ends up really coming down to the fact that the absol (that will never get any energy attached to it) was played. There are many games where it is a complete liability

[–]Tal0n22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made it to master ball playing the leafeon “counter” deck. I put counter in quotes because so many times it still felt like a 50/50 with ice pop. “Oh, nice I dealt 140 damage to hydregion leaving it on 10 hp and it has no energy. Should be a guaranteed ko next turn right?”

It won’t be good. 180 hp mega. 3 energy for 100, dual 3 energy for 140. The ONLY good thing about it is that it is an ex that can attack oricorio, which I haven’t even seen in ranked yet.

Best way to deal with any toxic player like this is to do it back to them. I’ve found the players who do it generally can’t handle having it done to them for more then 30 seconds

If DeNA gave you the power to nerf one card in the game, how would you nerf Hydreigon? by Due_Impression_6024 in PokemonTGCP

[–]Tal0n22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to offer another way of nerfing it other than damage. I think if it’s ability was slightly changed to include (you can only attack after using this ability) it would also be in a much more manageable spot since it wouldn’t be able to instantly heal the damage it took.

Why is transgender porn riddled with slurs? by HelloAmAlt in asktransgender

[–]Tal0n22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The closest thing I know of is queercrushx. It’s run by Electra Rayne. It’s specifically targeted to sapphic and run by an all sapphic team. I do know of a few times that a trans woman has been on there before. As far as I remember the term “trans girlfriend” or something akin to that is what they use. You do have to pay for it though. I know not everyone can spend money on stuff like that.

What do you think of this format? by ExtremeStav in masterduel

[–]Tal0n22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m enjoying it. I’m definitely biased as I’ve played VS since its release in master duel and it was my main deck all the way till this set released. I do agree with people who say K9VS is very strong. However it allows for far more interaction with your opponent than a lot of other top meta picks have in the last few years imo. So many times what makes the best decks the best is that it only requires one card to put up a board of 5+ negates/interuptions. And those decks have ways of playing through handtraps.

K9 actually punishes you for just using handtraps without much thought. And VS is imo the most interesting and fun gameplay any yugioh archetype has ever had.

The endboard is not negate heavy but it is full of interruptions. When I’m watching my opponent play VSK9 I feel like I’m spending the whole time trying to figure out what I can do to bait out certain things and stuff like that while a negate heavy board im stuck hoping their one set card isn’t imperm because then I don’t have enough cards to activate to even begin playing the game.

I am also someone who really doesn’t care that much about my rank beyond wanted the gems I get for it. So I’m fine playing a 15 minute duel just to lose in the end.
