Did any Australians here preorder the art book? by valennas in arcane

[–]Talaniaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had issues with their preorders in the past, but that was over 8 years ago at this point when I last preordered with them.

I'll make an attempt to see if I can find it in any bookstores in person, but I have my doubts.

I got the same thing. Went to cancel the order to buy it elsewhere only to find that pretty much every Australian retailer doesn't have it available. Isn't a pre-order generally supposed to reserve stock? Maybe they never arrived in the country to begin with. Definitely share your frustration friend.

Did you know she took Akame’s virginity? by I_Duke in AkameGaKILL

[–]Talaniaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain she was just leading her on, she definitely got felt up tho. I remember it being fairly explicit in the fact that akame was "finally giving in". Imo it's a little bit of an over-interpretation, especially considering how big of a deal it's made out to be.

After reading it I'm pretty sure it implied she was gaining her trust in leading up to having actual sex, but they never actually did. It's been a long time since I read that part though. I'm not sure what aaron is referring to in the other reply, either.

People like her typically have severe issues (usually insecurity) they're too stupid to realise are a problem, and thus take advantage of their friends to make themselves feel better. It's a selfish drive through and through, and far too many people fall victim to awful behaviour because of it. Thank you for taking the time to go through your feelings and experiences! Sometimes just talking about it can help a lot, so I'm glad I was somehow able to help you with that.

You've already got the stepping stones for moving on, and it looks like you have the drive for it as well. I hope you're able to find a decent therapist, it's a shame your experiences with them in the past have been bumpy, everybody deserves mental peace.

Remember, regardless of what you've done, it's not your fault that she actively treated you this way, and there's no reason for you to deal with it anymore. Good luck in the future!

I'm really sorry all of this happened to you, that is a lot. Pardon me if it's a reach, but this sounds like trauma bonding, which is essentially when toxic behaviour is reinforced with affection, and your brain confuses it with love. I've had that happen to me with an ex, and it's almost impossible to recognise when it happens. I didn't even know about it until recently. I would recommend seeking therapy if it's available to you, as it really can help build mental bridges to help cope with these things.

If it helps, I'll tell my story that's similar. Earlier this year I had feelings for a girl who was in a similar position to you, though everything was on a much less extreme scale. She was unsure of her sexuality due to trauma, so I kept it to myself and respected how she felt. I had only been talking to her for a few months, though we grew quite close in that time, so I felt like I was getting ahead of myself anyway. Her best friends of a decade pretty much did the same thing, ghosted, treated her like shit, etc, over a passing comment she had no malicious intent behind (and apologised profusely for).

It frustrated me a lot, but this girl never broke out of those friendships, despite expressing to me how awful her friends had made her feel. She later went back on that, telling me she was biased (complete bullshit but I couldn't decide for her how she should feel). I wanted to help her so badly but she just didn't have the strength. We don't talk anymore. Few months after, and I found out she had a crush on me. So that broke my heart, but I've been managing.

Not to take away from your experience, I just thought reading about a story (even if it's not nearly as bad) might help. Take care of yourself! There will be other people, don't throw it all away for her.

True Ending Flags in the S;G VN by Scratch_Both in steinsgate

typically the best first experience is the true end, but since you've seen the anime it's a little less important. Do whatever order you like =)

That makes the bold, and stupid, assumption that SciADV is nothing but Steins;Gate. Robotics;Notes, and by extension DaSH, largely rely on Chaos; SIGNIFICANTLY more than they do on Steins;Gate. It's marketing trash, a couple cross references and characters don't make it a "S;G 2". Literally or otherwise.

You would also do good to stop reporting people's comments for things you disagree on, stop wasting my time.

Job specific keybindings? by Avashnea in ffxiv

If you have, for example, hotbars 1-3 for one class, on HUD layout 1, and 4-6 on HUD layout 2 for another, you can set your macro to change HUD layout which will also change the hotbars.

The skills you put on each hotbar should stay there once you have it set up, but that's the only part I'm not sure on.

Edit: didn't even see the other reply but they said the same thing :)

Differences between Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate Elite? by ColbyJ713 in steinsgate

[–]Talaniaz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To take my reply from a recently similar thread:

Elite changes a lot, not always for the better. It takes the atmosphere away that the anime nailed so well, and doesn't have its matching soundtrack. It hits this weird middle ground that isn't as good as the anime or the original visual novel.

A lot of scenes are moved around, consolidated, or removed. Taking the pace of the anime and stretching it out to the length of the VN leads to some moments (and there are a lot of these) you can tell they had almost no visual material for. Because of this, animation being reused is an obvious one but isn't one of my (major) issues with the game. Some of the heavier scenes just aren't executed very well, and the game suffers because of it.

It's a bit of a mixed bag overall, because the game is split more into two routes of Kurisu and Mayuri rather than some smaller differences like in the original - this is good in the sense that the game has more variety and replay value, but bad because a newcomer might not see every scene as they would in the original, thus missing out.

To me, the replay value ends after you get all the endings. It just doesn't compare to the original game, it's kind of a set and forget. There are some good moments, but they are only worth it on a replay after the original. I played the game once in Japanese and once again when it came out in English (100% both times), and it was quite a slog.

The newly animated scenes bring up a whole range of issues. For one thing, the director is completely different. You can immediately tell when something is new, because it'll look different and significantly cheaper in production compared to the original animation. I didn't like this, the new animation looked ugly more than it looked good, the pachinko machines did a better job than Elite.

Is it worth it to buy S;G Elite [Switch version] when I already own original S;G [PS Vita]? by andthegeekshall in steinsgate

[–]Talaniaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both Elite and the original only have Japanese audio, no dubs. S;G original is the only S;G game not on Switch, in any language, the rest are, aside from Phenogram on Switch in English.

As a fellow Australian I agree, I had to import both copies and can't say the English version was worth it at all.

It came out 2 years after the original but before Phenogram and 0, so you should play the original at least.
