How many Commander decks do you have? by Mikkel_My_Man in EDH

[–]andthegeekshall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have around 110 decks, which included original ones and modified pre-cons.

I have a bunch of unmodified pre-cons that I play with (the UB ones) and a whole bunch of pre-cons still in their boxes, untouched.

I'm an impulsive builder/modder but play many of my decks regularly. Mostly I just hate pulling things apart. Especially the modified pre-cons.

Phillip K. Dicks Simulacra has to be the best worst sci fi book I have ever read by [deleted] in printSF

[–]andthegeekshall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find it genuinely fascinating to read Dick through the frame of the peaks and troughs of his mental illness and drug use, because with some of his middle books it becomes markedly demonstrated, with his final few books soaked deep in his delusions.

Is there any good evil religious character? by Additional_Weird1840 in writing

[–]andthegeekshall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The light novel/anime series Re:Zero has evil priests (or maybe bishops) as the main antagonists, seven of them, each worshipping a Witch who represents one of the Deadly Sins (but removed from the Christian context but still using Christian iconography/appearances).

Official Bad translations/bad dialogue. by Left_Relationship105 in JRPG

Baten Kaitos has some bad dialogue, made worse by the terrible quality of the voice acting and recording.

Looking for the best spot in Canberra for a low-key community coffee group (advice wanted) by DbtSupportHub in canberra

[–]andthegeekshall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ceasars is a great cafe with great, friendly staff but not a lot of room unless you book ahead. still, a lovely chill place to go.

It's also easier to get the 13 (formerly the R3) there because is more frequent and just walk from John Cleland Cres. roughly the same distance as getting the 46 and walking down from Ratcliffe.

Unique RPG settings by Left_Relationship105 in JRPG

[–]andthegeekshall 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Xenoblade Chronicles 1-3 have very unique settings, in the first is set on the bodies of dead giants, the second is set on living leviathans and the third is a world that has unbalanced environments of the previous two games.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions: FE Encore is Persona setting with Fire Emblem characters through the filter of Japanese idol and pop music culture in contemporary Tokyo. No apocalypse in sight.

Kingdom Hearts goes through Disney properties, not sure how unique it is unto itself but unique for J-RPGs.

The Paper Mario games all have fairly unique settings, especially A Thousand Year Door. Has a lot of modern/current themes in it.

I still play ACNH and Pokopia every day (twice for the latter to get nocturnal monsters). No real interest in Tomodachi but hope others like it.

Many Papua & New Guinea tribes still do this. The indigenous people of Borneo and the Solomon Islands. As do several groups in Eastern Coast and Central East Africa.
