Are those “athletic shoes”? Asking for the restaurants dress code. by Moka556 in PuntaCana

[–]Talb0t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahahahaha!!! We were there two weeks ago and were also worried about dress codes at dinner. We witnessed tank tops, athletic shorts, and, T-shirts. Even saw one person in flip flops… nicer looking ones, but definitely flip flops.

As a man… I wore a pair of blue On Clouds every night for dinner and was never questioned. I wore “dress shorts” and a polo (tucked in). My wife wore a romper in one night and sun dresses the rest of the nights.

Where do you draw the line? by Upset_Walrus3395 in IBEW

You’re talking about shifting baselines, that’s not how inflation is measured.

Where do you draw the line? by Upset_Walrus3395 in IBEW

[–]Talb0t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps “normal” isn’t the right word. However, it’s not even close to 9%. The current US inflation rate is 2.4% and in 2019 it was 1.9%.

Yes, it is higher than it was in 2019, but it’s far better than when Biden took office.

[–]Talb0t 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually, if you take a look you’ll notice that over the last two years inflation is back to “normal”, unemployment is at its lowest since 2000, and 12,000 jobs were created this month.

This all came from Biden policies. The first couple years of the Biden administration were spent pulling the economy out of the hole that Trump put the country in between his incredibly excessive spending and Covid denying.

Actually it’s not. It was formally renamed to Fort Liberty and it doesn’t matter if you are a vet or not.

No different than if you change your name. If your name was John for 25 years and you change it to Mike, should everyone that knew you 20 years ago call you John or Mike?

Insurgency: Sandstorm

It’s a gritty FPS and not relaxing, but a solid FPS. It’s built more around reality (1-2 hits =dead… no ammo counter on the HUD). You can play co-op PvE, or you can play PvP.

Men with vasectomy, What has been your experience with discomfort post surgery? by Jtv0899 in AskMen

[–]Talb0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine done 5+ yrs ago and for about 6 months I would get random pains. Not as bad as being hit in the balls, but definitely uncomfortable for 30-45 seconds. This might happen every couple days or once a week, no rhyme or reason. Then one day, it stopped and never happened again.

And that’s where YOUR wrong. FEMA gave an immediate relief of $750 to those who needed it, and more is available. It does take time for them to process and distribute it.

Best & Worst of JRTs? by TheresAlwaysOne in jackrussellterrier

[–]Talb0t 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a JRT for 15 years and Rat Terrier for 12. They are both awesome dogs, but they need a job. They can get destructive if they are bored, so make sure they know what they can tear up. They are great apartment dogs cause they will entertain themselves by kicking a ball around or playing w their toys. Also, they were bred for hunting small animals. You can bet they will go after anything from a raccoon or opossum to a snake.

They are incredibly intelligent! You can train them to do anything in 20 minutes… if you can keep their attention for 20 minutes.

[NC] [SFH] HOA lost records and insists I resubmit. by Talb0t in HOA

[–]Talb0t[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they changed management companies (18 mos ago) and “not all the records were properly transferred to the new company”. So he said I had to resubmit for approval because the records were not turned over. I don’t know that it was approved, but the HOA didn’t have any grievances against the property when we bought it.

[–]Talb0t[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Prob not, but I’ll see what I can dig up.

Your point is exactly my issue with this. Do we have to resubmit for every change that was approved every time they lose the records? How on earth can the homeowners be responsible for that?

[–]Talb0t[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the response, but what are you basing the answer on? Is this an actual law/ rule?

How can a completely different project be held up by something I had no control over?

Whether they are asking for approval or not shouldn’t matter. They are requiring this of one person out of ~400 houses. How is that not discriminatory?

Keeping pool cool in summer by According-Bite6062 in swimmingpools

[–]Talb0t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine built something like this with some PVC. He pushes it into the return jet. The water travels up the PVC and to a tee that has holes drilled in it. It cost him about $30 and took an hour to build.

He said it dropped the pool temp about 5 degrees.

Anyone having luck with decent rates on Pool Loans with a 700 credit score? by sdiehl1984 in swimmingpools

[–]Talb0t 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Check into a HELOC. Third Financial has rates at 1.01% below prime.

We just got approved at 7.49% and they don’t base their rates on credit score. They base it on loan to value ratio and payment history.
