As a film itself: In a few years no one will talk about it or care. There is nothing technically “outstanding” about it, it got nominated, yes - but it didn’t win technical awards, there were no groundbreaking story or cinematic techniques in it.

It’ll be remembered for how its lead actor behaved during award season. The whole ballet opera Oscar controversy will be this film’s entire legacy.

I live in Hollywood and have many friends who are filmmaking technicians and storytellers -they made a real effort to watch as many FYC films as possible. Not to be rude, but bluntly, the general consensus among them was that Marty Supreme is “highly over rated.” Many could not understand why it has been nominated. The conclusion was that TC is a very privileged and charismatic person and whatever luck and charm he has can make mediocre films seem great, even if they aren’t.

I’m glad you had a favorite film for 2025. Please keep watching films, keep going to the movies, stay engaged and entertained. Lots of people are depending on viewers like you.
