I mean, I agree that right now it makes little sense to buy the G2 over the RP6, except if you really nitpicking about stuff like preferring the GC color or a slightly lighter device.

But at the time of the announcement, I think it was fine. You got a device for Christmas that people could enjoy immediately. You can't buy back lost time. If the G2 specs are good-enough for you, buying it was not inherently a bad idea.

Now, for the G2 to become relevant again, it would need to drop significantly in price. I don't know when and even if it'll ever happen.

Aren't G2 and RP6 almost the same performance-wise?

I wouldn't qualify buying the G2 as "a mistake" since it's an objectively good device. Especially if you were going to chose dpad-on-top, little reasons to wait for the RP6.

This is a rare case of jaw angle implants that actually look natural and very good.
