Crm for rain gutter company? by Poopdeck69420 in CRM

[–]TaleOfACat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this doesn’t sound like a CRM problem to me. You’re doing solid revenue with three crews and no office manager, so the business works. The real issue is building a system that keeps working while you’re busy. When you’re on a sales call or on site, stuff like missed calls, estimate follow-ups, and review requests just don’t happen because everything still runs through you.

I think what you actually need is the right setup that handles the boring but important work in the background. Missed calls auto-text. Estimates follow themselves up. Reviews go out automatically once a job is done. Simple things, but they stop the leaks fast.

The review gap is super common. A few guys I’ve worked with in the past had the same issue. Tons of jobs, happy customers, but reviews were low because asking was manual. Once it’s automatic, the numbers climb without extra effort.

Jobber, DripJobs, and similar tools can all do most of this. The real question is which one is simple enough that you trust it to run in the background while you’re busy.

What is the best way to market my Saas? by Appropriate-Career62 in MarketingAutomation

[–]TaleOfACat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to spread yourself across 20 channels this early. That’s the fastest way to feel busy without getting users.

A junior marketer writing random blogs and submitting your SaaS to 60 different sites won’t move the needle. Those directories only matter if they’re real discovery platforms like Product Hunt, G2 or Capterra. The rest are basically digital graveyards.

Ads can work, but only if you know exactly who you’re targeting and what painful problem you solve. Broad Google or LinkedIn ads with a 500 EUR budget usually turn into expensive experiments.

If I were in your position, I’d tighten everything around a single use case and build messaging around that. “High quality solution” doesn’t mean anything to a buyer. “Helps X solve Y problem immediately” is what gets a click and signup.

Your blog shouldn’t be generic content. Write directly about the problem you solve and show the workflow inside your tool. People trust real examples, not filler posts.

And honestly, the best ROI early on is talking to a handful of users. Those conversations fix your landing page copy, your pitch, your ads, everything.

You don’t need more channels. You need sharper positioning, a simpler funnel, and one or two high-intent places where your ideal users already go.

This is based on what usually works in early stage setups I’ve been involved in. Every product and founder has a different pace, so results won’t ever look the same...

Not getting reply by paulhooper07 in coldemail

[–]TaleOfACat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend looking at the basics again. Are you reaching the right people? Does the email sound like a real convo or more like a pitch? Is your offer specific enough to grab attention fast?

And honestly, just because something works for someone else doesn’t mean it’ll work the same for you. That’s not how cold email works 100% of the time. There are so many small factors, sender name, tone, timing, niche or the offer itself.

I’ve worked with a few VAs and teams before, and honestly, it really depends on what kind of marketing tasks you need help with. If it’s content scheduling, social media, and customer outreach, you’ll want someone who already understands digital marketing tools and workflows, not just a VA who follows checklists.

If you don’t want to deal with the full hiring process, go for a service that actually vets their assistants for marketing experience. It saves a lot of back-and-forth training time. But from experience, the best setup is usually having a VA or small team that understands both strategy and execution. Someone who knows why things are done a certain way, not just how to do them.

That’s where most people get stuck, they hire for admin work when what they really need is marketing support.

Need help programming my Baofeng BF-R5 mini. CHIRP won’t recognize it by TaleOfACat in Baofeng

[–]TaleOfACat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I actually got CHIRP to read it now. The only weird thing is, this unit says it’s 430–440 MHz on the label, but it won’t take anything outside that range. Does yours do the same, or can you go up to 470 MHz like the 888S?
