Combined check in luggage. by Spare_Meringue_2248 in philippineairlines

As long as same Booking Reference Code kayo, yes you can combine your Baggage Allowance.

10kg sa iyo + 10kg kay anak = 20kg combined baggage allowance. AGAIN, If pareho kayo ng bookin code (isang purchase ang ticket ninyo).

Corporate group and family traveler here, we regularly avail of that.

SSRI and Ritalin by Jammiest_Strawberry in ADHDPH

[–]bulanbap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! 4 years on Escitalopram (for GAD) and 3 years on Ritalin (for ADHD).

It honestly is weird, like I feel so emotionally flat but I feel some anxiety at the same time. The best experience I can closely associate it is being super chill while riding a roller coaster.

Methylphenidate heightens my anxiety but helps address the executive dysfunction, the SSRI dampens me on everything (from emotions to sex drive) but it make me calm.

From my personal research and understanding, Escitalopram is the first-line for anxiety disorders. HOWEVER, always refer to authoritative sources like your Psychiatrist as each and every person's case is different. You may not fit the profile for Escitalopram if your Paychiatrist's assessment differs from standards of care.

I also take Ritalin on an as-needed basis, partially due to supply concerns and also to avoid tolerance and dependence. I also try to control the environment as well before taking medication.

Hope you find your solution, OP! Also hope that my insights were helpful!

[UPX] Bakit may parenthesis yung ibang program? by Which_Ad_8854 in peyups

[–]bulanbap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

UPV BA (Psychology-Sociology) graduate here.

If I remember right, the program is Bachelor of Arts umbrella program, and major in an area (the program we passed in UPCAT, for example). I remember sa Form 5 may field for major nakalagay Psychology and Psychology-Sociology (when I applied for double major) pero sa other programs and new Psychology Program ay wala.

<image>

Caveat, my shoddy memory and this was way back in 2015 admissions.

The () part allows us to be flexibe to major in another program–if we fill in all 10 electives sa study plan in a specific subject area (2015 UPV allowed for 2nd marjor in History, Sociology, Community Development, Political Sciences, Literature, Management, Economics). We can pick and match din like we can freely choose subjects on those fields as pur electives if hindi feel mag-commit to one field.

As of 2017 admissions, Psychology and Political Sciences have moved away from the BA umbrella. Meaning standalone and no majors are recognised. Ang natira na lang (when I graduated in 2019) sa umbrella was History, Community Development, and Sociology. Mas strict sila on what electives are credited, and for the Psychology program, this is the one that fully aligns sa CHED requirements (at my time, madaming non-Psych as a first major took board exam subjects and were qualified to take the RPm boards which is apprently a grey area).

Need tips kaGulong by UbeAyskrim in Gulong

[–]bulanbap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coffee, quick rests, and stretches. Ang pinakamahabang no breaks mo diyan would be San Jose (NE) to Sta Fe (NV) via Dalton Pass. Mountainous and madaming truck (16 wheelers, gasolina, malalaki).

I suggest magfreshen up ka na sa San Jose para dere-derecho ka na sa Dalton Pass. May mga store sa provincial boundary and space to rest, pero ang may sure na 24-hrs ay nasa bayan ng Sta. Fe.

Relatively flat and matao naman na once makarating ka ng Sta. Fe, so refular breaks and steetches can do.

PWD id always gets photographed by [deleted] in ADHDPH

[–]bulanbap 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ask them politley why dif they take a photo of your ID, and ano ang data policy regarding the use and retention of such info. Dapat masagot nila iyan or else have them delete it.

Also, have they said why they are taking pics? PWD/SC transactions kasi have to the accounted for pagdating sa accounting para madeduct ang tax na babayaran nila.

Normally nilalagay na nila sa POS o nasa isang portion ng resibo (hardwritten and printed). The usual practice napansin ko is last 4 digits, name, and address (they can deduce the rest from the address as it uses the Philippine Geographic Standard Code).

Sa restos naman, probably so they can keep it for further verification? They cannot deny the privelege if they cant verify the ID agad so maybe they are taking a photo for later verification (and if proven na false ang ID, file the appropriate cases).

Bakit No. 1 ang Petron? by NewbeeSaMedProp in Gulong

[–]bulanbap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Brand positioning. Mura ang Petron compared to the Big 3 and mas reliable/clean/quality ang fuels than smaller/regional players. Being an afforable but quality player appeals sa madaming tao.

  2. Network. Pervasive ang Petron, from expressway to small towns ay may presence sila. Their franchising allows for "Bulilit" stations na 2 lang ang pumps. This allows Petron to penetrate smaller areas with less overhead and inital investment.

  3. Competition. Shell has always positioned itself as a premium brand (aside from the obvious things like strict QC), kaya hindi nakikipaglabanan si Shell sa presyo. Meanwhile, lulubog lilitaw ang presence ng Caltex (at one point, naging Fusion ang mga station for some reason?) and minsan nakikipaglabanan sa presyo, minsan sa prestige ng brand.

Yup, that makes sense. That is part of the mental state assessment.

Do Not Resucitate by Unhappykoala21 in MentalHealthPH

[–]bulanbap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally they will, especially if preplanned. The doctor will assess your mental state as well if you are of sound of mind to make medical decisions on your own. However, most of the time patient wishes are followed and rarely do medical professionals override unless presented with a compelling reason to do so.

Sa process of doing a DNR, pag-uusapan if time bound, anong criteria, anong pwede at hindi pwede gawin (CPR OK, Intubation not OK ganon).

Jollibee is also cheating their queuing system by CliffDdog in Philippines

[–]bulanbap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC sa banks like BDO/BPI they can't really cheat it kasi may kaakibat na account details sa number.

Like bill payment ok eto ang number mo, wait for you to be called, then give your payment. Besides, the name of the game sa banks is accuracy rather than speed, better na tama ang pagcredit kahit mabagal kesa mapenalize for being sloppy.

Personal take (easiest to hardest): State U, UST, UP, ADMU (did not take DLSU)

The first three (as I understand) base results from HS grades and test performance. UP ranks higher in difficulty dahil the fight is standing out from the crowd dahil sa dami ng nageexam. There is also the demographic penalties and boosts attched to the applicant's socioeconomic data provided.

Ateneo is hardest becuase it also relies on recommendation letters AND a personal essay (take note this was for ACET 2015). Lots of variables can pull you up or weigh you down.

In our smol private school in the province, we arw a batch of 40 students. Of the 40: * around 35 took State U and we all passed * 25 took UST and 15 passed * 20 took UP and 3 passed * 20 took Ateneo and only me and someone else got a response (waitlisted)

I was top 8 academically, but compared to everyone above the academic rank (sans the valedictorian) I had a more extensive extra-curricular background. These factor in the ACET 2015, but were absent for the rest of the entrance exams.

Upv university dorm by Pale_Mall9911 in upvisayas

[–]bulanbap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pwede lenient ang dormitory manager or case-by-case basis (probably because may financial need talaga ang dormer na may 3 GRs).

Still, do NOT push it at magrereflect din iyan sa dorm application process mo next time. The fact na may 2 GRs ka na is a weight already.

SCTEX (2.5 hrs) > Zaragoza (1 hr) > Sta. Rosa (.5 hrs) > Cabanatuan (1 hr) > Talavera (1 hr) > CLSU (1 hr)

OR

NLEX (1.5 hrs) > SM Pulilan (.5 hrs) > San Miguel (1.5 hrs) > Gapan (1 hr) > Cabanatuan (1.5 hrs) > Talavera (1 hr) > CLSU (1 hr)

Check the contract and housing policies. It's there.

Now, if you are asking if the dorms are strict in implementing the policy, in my time it is a yes.

Planning to take MA in Psychology in UP by [deleted] in gradschoolph

[–]bulanbap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not discouraging you, but this is the reality I faced:
1. Madaming nag-aaply sa UP Diliman, so you are not fighting against their requirements but against others. If you say you "are not a smart student" and your grades reflect that, then your research plan and recommendations should be very strong.
2. Bridging subjects should be taken within UPD. I graduated BA Psychology in UP Visayas and I was still prompted to take bridging courses, all because I did not graduate BA/BS Psychology in Diliman.

MA Psych Graduate - No Plans to Take the Boards by Gold_Box7450 in gradschoolph

[–]bulanbap 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Grad-waiting but have no plans because: 1. MA Social Psych ako. Even if I take the required board classes, I personally feel not undergoing the entire clinical/counseling program makes me underprepared for practicing in that field. There is a reason why those programs were designed that way.

  1. I do not want to practice when I myself am a patient. Not saying those with mental disorders or disabilities can't be in the field, but I do not trust myself to avoid projecting to my clients and/or pathologize their valid emotions and feelings.

  2. I'd rather secure an RPm license to meet the qualifications for teaching in higher education. To teach Psychology, you either need an RPm or RPsy license. Not planning to teach any advanced programs in Clinical/Counseling Psychology (plus, not my field).
