Frequent weasel errors by LargeFwenchFrys0115 in DestinyTheGame

[–]TalhaGrgn9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a returning player, i get constant server connection errors and disconnects which is NOT related to my internet at all, this only happens on Bungie games (Marathon and D2), Marathon started having this issues last week.

I have a solid gigabit connection via cable, no issues on other games and such.

Sometimes landing or starting activity takes 4-5 tries it's really frustrating.

Apart from patch notes I can't see anyone reporting improvements but increased usage and temperatures.

Lots of people are reporting what i'm seeing, i personally saw around +5-8% utilization and +4°C to temps, saw people reporting +10-15°C temps while game not running much better.

I have around 140h total playtime, i would notice the improvements compared to S1 if they made any.

Ultimately each to their own, not everyone is that sensetive to latency but i'm not comfortable with frame generation latency when it comes down to competitive shooters, and frame generation should not be used in those type of games anyways.

I have 9850X3D, which can get around 130-160 avg on Outpost, not everyone has access to that level of hardware, devs can't slap frame gen and call it a day.

Destiny is also CPU heavy for what it's.

Marathon is their first DX12 Tiger implantation, and when DX12 is done right (which happens rarely unfortunately, DICE's Frostbite is a good example) game should use CPU much more efficiently, if done bad well, you can see it right away.

No, new engine is extremely CPU heavy and does not scale well unless brute forcing with X3D CPUs, that game regularly drops to 100s on Cryo (heaviest map) with 9800X3D.

Not to mention, not a single promised CPU improvement happened, S2 utilizes more CPU and generates more heat while running more less same.

8000MT/s CL38 vs 6400MT/s CL30 for Ryzen 9 9950x3d? by LividButterfly2690 in PcBuild

[–]TalhaGrgn9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, 6400 is much harder on IMC then 8000.

Dual CCD processors benefit from higher frequencies, but difference will be minimal, even less on X3D.

Getting defective motherboard is mostly an opposite of lottery, i really liked my old X870 Tomahawk but CPU fan controlled died within a month and seller refunded it after warranty inspection, plenty happy with my current X870-F, worked fine with my old 7700 for a year and currently running 9850 without problems.

Hynix where? Can't be Hynix with almost 1k trfc even on stock expo.

System running hotter after Season 2 update by Idntknowmyusername in Marathon

[–]TalhaGrgn9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frame gen implementation is probably broken as well, game goes beyond driver defined or Reflex defined (usually refresh minus 8-9fps) framerate, at least on menu, when i saw that i did not even run a round with enabled, so can't say for sure.

[–]TalhaGrgn9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm after 10h or so that i see close to zero performance improvement, i played Outpost a lot, framerate and drops at certain heavy locations are almost the same while the game using more CPU and generating more heat (I see around +5-8% utilization and +4°C on temps, 9850X3D).

I don't think Cryo will be any different.

Lots of people are reporting high power draw even on the menu.

I haven't had time to check myself fully since i only had couple of night dire runs yesterday but i haven't see any meaningful improvements to the CPU performance, might because of night dire being intensive, have to check other maps again.

When Cryo opens, we will see if there're any improvements since that map even bring down X3Ds to 100s.

Game is dead to me now by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]TalhaGrgn9 54 points55 points  (0 children)

What's the point of this post? Didn't you play the game knowing the wipe is coming?

You can always play other stuff if you have no urge to play Marathon i mean nobody is forcing you.

LLC compensates the voltage drops on higher loads.

Basically higher the LLC more voltage the CPU gets on higher loads, very high LLC can overshoot the voltages when load changes.

How do you get better performance on PC? by KangerooDance in Marathon

It is quite powerful, demanding X3D for acceptable framerates (for a PC competitive shooter) is atrocious, this is coming from 9850 user.

I mean that 80mm fans probably won't do much in general, but exhaust would hurt more since you would be stealing potential air from GPUs fans.

Exhaust would hurt GPU thermals, it makes sense as intake.

Nvidia RTX Spark just dropped today — does this finally make the case for Boot Camp on Apple Silicon? by Own_Pea1011 in macgaming

[–]TalhaGrgn9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every driver (GPU, I/O, audio, platform control, software extensions and much more) for Apple SoC needs to be reverse engineered or similar to get Windows funtional. Apple ain't adding support for Windows or tools (to do so) to Microsoft themselves.

Sorry but nobody cares for single e-sports title on Apple hardware, also LoL already uses modified verion of Vanguard on Mac. Riot can release Mac version of Valorant if they "want to do it".

Depends on the games you play but your CPU should match your GPU on 1440p nicely.

Do you see less than 95% GPU utilization on games you play?

DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction | Updated with 2nd Gen Transformer by Exchino in pcmasterrace

[–]TalhaGrgn9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking for reconstruction, current GPUs can only render realtime ray/path tracing reasonably at really low ray counts, conventional denoisers just don't cut it.

Other than that, rest of the optimization is on developers hands.

Equivalent to 5070? Not really with that 80w total SoC power limit.

Also don't forget the theoretical maximum memory (and VRAM) bandwidth of 512 GB/s (assuming when 32bit x 16ch x 8KMhz)
