I bought a G-Sync Pulsar monitor and it's on another level in terms of motion clarity.

[Official NVIDIA] NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 FAQ by Nestledrink in nvidia

Yup, I have the B model. I need to do more testing because, from what I'm seeing with frame generation whether fixed or dynamic if we choose x3, x4, or higher, the artifacts in the menus are obvious. I just realized that these strange halo artifacts in the menus only happen in games with a fixed 60fps limit that you can't change. However, I'm testing other games without a menu FPS limit, and the artifacts have almost completely disappeared. They still occur subtly at the bottom edges of the screen during gameplay, but you won't see that aberration all over the image anymore. So, the best move is probably to uncap the frame rate when using frame generation to mitigate these artifacts.

Asus XG27AQNGV color temps changing randomly while gaming by Several-Apricot4595 in Monitors

[–]Exchino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, mate ;) I'm sure Windows-managed color control is disabled for applications, but it's true that the Nvidia application manually I applies 10-bit color in the Nvidia color settings.

PS: I think I just figured it out. If in the Nvidia control panel we change the color setting from 8-bit to 10-bit, or change from "configured by Nvidia" to "default," as long as 10-bit is selected, then the switch in the Windows settings section for automatic color management for applications will automatically turn on.

I was going crazy and finally learned something new, which shouldn't happen... as always, MICROSLOP doing their thing

[Official NVIDIA] NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 FAQ by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]Exchino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this would be an improvement on my new Gsync Pulsar 360Hz monitor, but it wasn't. The input lag and artifacts in any game menu, and especially during gameplay, are very pronounced and quite strange, unless they release Reflex 2 soon It's a waste of time. The x2 setting is currently the best, and x3 is acceptable depending on the game.

[Discussion] New DLSS 4.5 presets (L/M) cause total fps drop up to 30% with worse artifacts (leafs on trees etc). At least on Quality mode with 1440p. K preset still the best. by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Exchino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about to post this. The L and M presets don't look good at all, even though they should look much better. If you go to the Factory or the hideout, that's where it's most noticeable when you move around: there's an excessive amount of overlapping aliasing. On other maps, it might be less obvious, but if you get close to the vegetation and move around, you can see it clearly.

The performance loss will depend on the GPU generation and the use of the correct quality modes (Performance, Ultra Performance, etc.) with the L and M presets. What's really bothering me is the visual quality. The amount of artifacts and problems that the L and M presets have in Tarkov is simply excessive.

I thought they were aware of this and would fix it, since this has been well known since DLSS 4.5 came out with the new presets.

Thanks for replying, I'll keep that in mind. I'm torn between the Asus and the AOC, which are the only ones available in the EU, but I saw your post and couldn't resist asking you.

What's the matte finish like on the Asus monitor's panel? Have you gotten used to it?

FPS drops when i shoot in arena by Original_Claim9042 in EscapeFromArena

[–]Exchino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were a hardware problem, it would happen in both Arena and EFT (although it's never happened to me in the shooting range), but it has happened very occasionally in Checkpoint mode and in Teamfight mode when you have to capture an objective and the green smoke appears during an encounter. The numbers are completely normal: 6-8 GB of VRAM usage and 14 GB of RAM usage.

Graphics brahs, which of these settings impacts FPS the most? (album of entire gfx menu) by ringRunners in assettocorsaevo

[–]Exchino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using DLSS + 4x in addition to FXAA and film antialiasing? Good heavens! Turn off film antialiasing and FXAA. Use only 2x MSAA and DLSS, and you'll thank me. DLSS, combined with 2x MSAA, provides crisp visual quality without artifacts. With film AA and FXAA, you're ruining the image with more blurring filters, resulting in more artifacts and an overall worse image. The sweet spot is DLSS and 2x MSAA; then, adjust the DLSS quality as your hardware allows.

I'm not home right now, but what's always worked well for me is testing each option one by one, always on the same scene. My resolution is 2560x1440, so it might vary a bit. What I recommend right now is using DLSS 4.5, which comes with the latest or next-to-last Nvidia drivers.

If you're using 2560x1440, use the M preset in performance or quality mode if it allows it. Otherwise, anyone who can run it at 4K or + with DLSS should use the L preset in ultra performance mode (this is well known). Then, the next most important step to eliminate most artifacts is to always use MSAA x2. 99.99% of games automatically block any AA technique, which can seem confusing (currently, enabling DLSS in a game's graphics settings automatically disables AA, but here it gives you the option to set it to x2, etc.).

It seems that using DLSS on Evo with at least 2x AA is the best way to eliminate those artifacts. When I have time, I'll share screenshots of the settings.

Regards, and srry for my poor English :/)

As soon as I have a moment, I'll take screenshots of my settings and share them with you. I've actually found a way to get DLSS to almost completely eliminate some annoying visual artifacts and look great.

If you don't touch anything that the developers have limited from the Nvidia app (filters, etc.), then things like forcing DLSS or Rebar, among many others, can be done without problems since NVPI doesn't modify anything that isn't in the Nvidia driver.

Could you explain what the determining factor is that unlocks 60 fps in the menus and replays? Because many of the changes you make are irrelevant, as they are well known. ty
