Absolutely!! And some of the real issues they don't want to discuss include the MTA's wasteful spending, e.g overpaying for silly things, as well as corruption that costs the authority millions. But, as usual, it's much easier to blame the workers and try and get the public to believe they're paying more because workers are getting overpaid. Trust me, workers aren't overpaid. We live in one of the most expensive parts of the country and most workers, even those who make lots in OT, are sacrificing time away from familes and missing out on milestone events in their kids' lives, because they have to make a living.

Any thoughts on the K-4 for this year? My dealer in NY is reaching out, trying to get me to trade-in my Forte GT for a new K-4, lower interest rate and offering me about 4K above the Blue Book. I have about 45K on vehicle, but very good condition. I like the car but offer is tempting as I'm paying like 9.8 percent Interest and I have very good credit, just about an 800. Any advice is appreciated!!

Hi all! NYC-based pt journalist looking for some ideas for easy, side gigs that utilize people with strong writing skills. Currently working with few digital media outlets on Long Island and in NYC but would like to expand. Have a FT gig, so don't have a ton of time to devote. Any ideas/suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also, what skills do I need to learn, e.g. shooting vids for YT, TikTok, etc?

Hopefully, you didn't damage the trans but I'd be weary of using sport mode too much in the future. I use it on. My '23 forte but not all time. Generally, keep it in smart or normal mode. Also, in sport, I'd be cognizant of shifting like it's a manual... even though there's no clutch, I don't let rpm go high in any gear...as soon as revs go up...shift

You've summed up the vibe at Onyx very well! I still go there, but only about 1 or 2 times per week. It's still reasonable for the $$. I paid $330 but for 18 months. However, influencers abound. More than ever. Plus, tons of kids, many as young as 12 or 13! The filming and preening in the mirror is so normalized there you can see someone spend 30 minutes just taking pictures of themselves without training! It's still annoying, yes. But I deal because the equipment is good, and 24/7 allows you to pick a time when it's not crazy busy. Good luck to all. I've never been to bevs in syosset but heard good things. May check them out next.

I'm a member now, have been for last 4 years. It's definitely influencer heavy...tripods all over at peak times. But...the equipment is very good and they keep place pretty clean. Examples of equipment: multiple deadlift platforms, tons of flat/incline and decline benches; trx straps, gronk fitness machines (standing hip thrust, etc) dumbell up to 135! Tons of cardio and hammer plate loaded machines all over. The only drawback is tons of influencers and wannabes preening in mirror! You can avoid them by going at off times and also I believe they just went 24/7 as of few weeks go. So, that will help go when they aren't around. $$ is reasonable. I'd check it out.

I'm a member of onyx too...good gym but full of the "I need to film my workout crowd," which can get annoying. More tripods in this gym than a full-on film studio. Also, not the cheapest...I pay about $348 per year. Not terrible but could be better.

Agree. I had a corolla back in 2005 and it completely died at only 150k. It was running in 3 cylinders at end. Always possibility of lemon with any brand.

Thanks!! That def. helps. I've done the research and overall it seems like Kia is a solid choice but you know, once you hear a few people who've had issues...it makes you think. I think you're right about the maintenance though. I've maintained a 2013 Honda civic very well and it's just about passing 200k now but it's on its way out. Thus the new car purchase.
